I made this for dinner last night at my son's. It's spaghetti, but strangely, even without the addition of a can of corn, it tastes different somehow from regular spaghetti. Maybe because the sauce "soaks in" to the pasta more during the baking.

3 lbs. ground round
2 jars spaghetti sauce (I used the Classico, one of the Four Cheese and the other the Sausage and Tomato)
1 - 8 oz. can tomato sauce
1 can whole kernal corn
3 tsp. granulated garlic (or coarse grind)
1 tsp chili powder
1/4 to 1/2 C grated parmesan cheese
1 lb. spaghetti, approx.

1 C grated cheddar cheese
1 C grated mozzarella cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cook spaghetti and brown hamburger, drain both. In pot you boiled the spaghetti in, mix all ingredients, except the cheddar cheese and the mozzarella cheese. (if you think it's too dry, you can add more tomato sauce or spaghetti sauce)

Prepare a LARGE casserole dish. Either spray it with cooking spray or line it with aluminum (for easy cleanup). Cover the dish with aluminum foil. Place in 350 degree oven and bake for 40 minutes. When time is up, remove from oven and uncover. Sprinkle cheddar and mozzarella cheeses on top and return to 350 degree oven for another 10 minutes. Remove from oven and let stand 5 minutes before serving. ENJOY! This made enough to serve 3 adults and 2 kids and there's enough leftovers for dinner tonight (and probably a few lunches tomorrow too, LOL!)

Thanks. I've been thinking of looking for a baked pasta casserole. This just may fit the bill. What if you leave the corn out? I just have this "thing" that if I add corn to meat and sauce, it becomes something unnatural, and unsightly, and then my imagination runs...... Corn is great on the cob, as a side dish, and creamed - - - just don't put it in my meat dish.

You can leave the corn out, I just put it in for something different. My daughter-in-law doesn't like the chopped black olives or mushrooms that I would normally put in something like this. The great thing about a casserole like this is you can make it with stuff YOU like in it. shouldn't affect it by leaving the corn out.
