Well, once again, the local pharmacy I use, has messed up another prescription I have ~ :cencored:

Sure, everyone is entitled to make a mistake, I am one of the most understanding persons around when it comes to forgiving human error ~ but when those mistakes add up to missed doses of meds, IMPORTANT meds !!! and it now happening every week !!!! ( not the same mistake either, shorted on amounts, or billed my insurance wrong and try to charge me, or havent heard from the "wrong" doctor ~ etc etc etc !!! ) the list goes on ~ !!!! :grouch:

Its time for a change.

I am on a lot of medications~ so there is always one or two I have to have re-filled each week~ ( I used to use and was very happy with LONG's, until they put in the single "wait in line" thing in, and there were so many times that I was physically/health reasons unable to wait that long ~ So I changed ~ )

Does anyone else here, take alot of RX's and are obtaining quality service (most of the time ) from a local pharmacy in Oakhurst that they would recommend????

I am so fed up with the service I am getting now, that if I knew where to report them to? I would do it....well, I would seriously consider doing it as I dont like to get anyone in trouble or threaten their jobs...... even if the service is low rate..... :h:

I don't use prescription meds often, but when I do, I like the convenience of dropping them off at the drive thru at Rite Aid, and then going in and picking them up an hour or so later. That way I don't need to go in twice, or wait around for them to fill the scrip...Sometimes when I'm totally crunched for time, or just don't feel all that well, I drive thru and pick it up, too...(just be sure to call and make sure it's ready ahead of time)

I wold go back to Longs for a couple of reasons.

1) You were happy and felt confident. That is major with presciptions.
2) You can solve the "wait" issue by calling in prescriptions. Then just pick up.

My 84 and 82 year old parents have very limited mobilty and wait ability. Mom calls in the number by phone in advance or on the day of pickup. Dad just walks in and picks up the prescription. No line wait.

We use Raley's pharmacy. They have never done us wrong with the dozen or more Rx's we get a year. They are knowledgable, polite, and fast. They have automated refill or you can do it online.

Good luck.

If I need a one-time Rx, I use Vons. But otherwise I use a mail-order service. That way I can get a three months' supply at one time and avoid paying unnecessary co-pays at the counter, where I am only allowed a 30-day supply at a time.

We use the mail order service too. It's great!

I used to use a service called Express Scripts, but I'm not sure if that business still exists or if it is just a matter of my insurance company (Blue Shield) making a change. Anyway, now I'm dealing with a mail service called Prime Mail.

With Prime Mail, you send a written prescription through the mail (but I think it can also be faxed from the doctor's office, at least that's how it was with Express Scripts) and then you get your medicines in the mail, usually within a week or even sooner. For refills, you can order online or over the phone (or by regular mail).
Shipping is free if you use regular mail delivery service or if you are in a big hurry, you pay for the expedited shipping.

I am not sure if Prime Mail is limited to Blue Shield subscribers or if it is a service available to others. But it sure is cheaper to make a co-pay for a 90-day supply than it is to make a co-pay for each 30-day supply.

We use a service called Medco - also thru Blue Shield. It works the same way Cat's does - Rx is faxed from the Dr.'s office and we get 90 days Rx at a time. No shipping charges. Check with your ins. co. and see if they have this service. If I hadn't asked I wouldn't have known about it. Hope this helps.
