I believe there are unidentified things.

i'm not sure yet about the 'alien' aspect of it.

mark me down as undecided.

I have personally seen one, or something that I could not identify in 1987. I was in the military stationed at Nellis AFB NV. One night I drove my 4X4 way up on a mountain top overlooking the Las Vegas Valley to talk on my CB radio to other states. I was about 3000 ft above the valley floor and looking out. While I was talking to friends down in the valley I saw what appeared to me to be a shooting star traveling at that spped at a 45 degree angle down to the desert floor in an area N of town that was not developed it was black dark area in the desert so I thought nothing of it. A few minutes later I was looking out at that area where I saw it go down and all of the sudden I saw a light move straight up in the air about 1000 ft and stop dead in place in under 1 second. It then started to move out over the desert floor with cycling white blue & yellow lights and moved off in a direction towards reno. This was not near the Air force base or airport. I then drove home and called into the base commant post and spoke to the air controller and asked if anything was in the area I spoke of at the time. He said No. He gave me the number for Norad Air command for reporting incidents. I called and reported what I saw and they said they had nothing occur on National radar over that area at that time. They said they would investigate and call me back. I never got a call back. I know that what I saw was no aircraft that I knew of and I worked on black projects at nellis and never saw an aircraft move at speeds that I saw and to be able to stop on a dime and change directions like that. I sum this up to an X-Files experience. All I know is I saw something that was not normal.

Somebody brought this topic up so I thought I'd check. Polls in recent years have shown the people in the US think they are real by margins of anywhere from 50% to 75%. Jimi Carter has said he saw one. Ronald Reagan even brought it up in one speech talking about how it might bring the world together if we were attacked from space. There have been a couple videos from the space shuttle that are hard to explain. What's your take do you believe? Have you ever seen something you couldn't explain?

......HELLLL! YES http://oakhurstforums.com/icon/idea3.gif i,ll leave the light on. LindaBo

2 things.

Fresno, 1993, I saw a circular aircraft with red lights. It was gliding & moved in circles. I was sober & several people were with me.

Coarsegold, 2000, I saw what appeared to be a shooting star, but it was going across the sky & very slowly. This time I was not sober, but again several people also witnessed with me. Satellite maybe, but kinda close.

Im still undecided

Does anyone remember around 96-98 when there black helicopters flying around Oakhurst? At the time we lived down 426 & I swear it was almost daily those things would come flying over our rickity mobile home. They were so close I thought wed blow over.

I've had a couple encounters this was the second. I think it was 1996 when I lived in YLP my wife, daughter and I had just returned from the grocery store. My wife saw it first a disc shaped object traveling just above the trees it was less than 150 yards away from us. The bottom looked like one big blue flourescent light I'll say it was about 80-90 feet across. It flew in a straight line towards the back gate. I saw what appeared to be the same craft 2 more times in the following weeks with 2 different people. The 3rd time it appeared to land on the far side of north dome we drove over there but couldn't find anything. It made a very unique sound a mix between a hum and an electrostatic discharge.

One time years ago I thought I was seeing one while driving home from S.F. I these low hovering lights while passing Coyote Point. They did not seemto be moving. However when I got almost to it I realized that it was an airliner with landing lights on approaching S.F. Airport low and slow. What a relief.
I can't say that I believe or disbelieve in them. I am just keeping an open mind until we get proof one way or the other.

I've only been up here a few months but I've already seen a few strange things in the night sky. It's so much clearer than down in L.A. I can just stand there looking up at the night sky for ages. On three occassions I've seen lights moving around the sky that were definately not planes. I'll keep looking.

i believe, although i have never seen or experienced anything extra terestrial. maybe, it's because i grew up with Mr. Spock, the outer limits and the twilight zone, but, it just doesn't make sense to me that out of all the planets, in all the universes, there would be only one with intellegent life. i hope 'they' are mopre intellegent than we have proved to be.
BTW x-c.g., it sounds like you need a 'star gazing hammock. [a hammock used at night]

Yeah, a hammock would be a good idea. I usually just stand around looking at the stars when I take our dogs out at night (they're city dogs, not mountain dogs).

Definitely.

One summer night in the late '50s to early '60s, I watched very odd aerial maneuverings by an object flying above the mountains between SF and the East Bay. It caught my attention because planes were not a common sight back then, as they are now. I first noticed the aircraft flying eastbound, as if it came from SF or the Pacific. It would "cruise" for awhile, then move extremely fast in a different direction; several times it stopped & hovered. After about 10-15 minutes of it zipping around in the sky, it sped off toward SF. It couldn't have been any commercial aircraft - commercial planes were still prop driven back then. (Anyone remember watching Constellations as they flew overhead? http://oakhurstforums.com/icon/surprised.gif ) I suppose that 'aircraft' could have been gov't - maybe out of Alameda or Moffett - but I don't think so.

During the '90s I saw many strange things in the So NV skies. Logic says they could have been from Nellis or the Test Site, but in light of my above experience, I wonder ...
