I've taken kitties here everytime...spaying, neutering, vaccinations (namely feral offspring).
But I needed a Vet today...a Saturday. Yes, often problems don't conveniently happen Monday thru Friday in the hours of 8-5.

Boy, was I happy to learn Oakhurst Vet was open until noon today! They started being open on Saturdays last November, apparently.

My big boy cat Milo had a swollen cheek which I discovered last night and was worth the worry....but not something I could worry about until Monday. Oakhurst Vet happily took him in and treated his abscessed cheek which was probably caused by some neighborhood mating Tom (Milo's not a fighter...since he was neutered 5 yrs ago, he retired). Poor guy's gotta wear a cone around his neck and take antibiotics, but he'll be fine.

Thought I'd share...Oakhurst Vet is open on Saturdays!!! And I've always been happy with their service and pet care.

Recently, two German Shorthair Pointers were running around loose on our property. They were beautiful, friendly, and appeared to be well cared for (except for the fact that their owner was irresponsibly allowing them to run wild with little concern for their safety). We were concerned for them (bad weather, traffic and coyotes) and contacted Oakhurst Veterinary to find out how much they would charge to scan these wonderful dogs for a microchip so that they might be returned to their owner (often hunting dogs do not wear collars). Although I am not a client, their concern was evident and told me to bring them in and they would be scanned at no charge. How very caring!

PS: The dogs disappeared but were back briefly several days later. If the owner happens to read this, please be advised that if these lovely dogs return, I will see to it that they are placed in a new home with owners who value them!

I have used Oakhurst Vet for the past 20 years, and have always been satisfied with their compassion and care~ I am very happy to learn that they are now open again on Saturdays !

Other wise there is a brand new 24 hr pet ER down in fresno on the North End of town off of Herndon? I think ~ That I have also used in emergencies !
