My new home in Oakland has concrete floors. I need to get carpet or a few large rugs. So, did anyone recently recarpet their home and have some leftover scraps to get rid of? Or maybe you have some large rugs that you don't use?
I need a runner for the hallway and a HUGE rug or carpet for the main living space (30X20)... or maybe several smaller rugs (6X8's). I also have a bedroom that could use a 6X8 rug. I already have the bathroom covered.
Let me know.... http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif

I just bought some really nice rugs, large ones, at Lowes. Good prices.

Thanks YJ. I just got one small rug on eBay for my front door. I am just hoping to find a very large chunk of carpet to throw down in the main living area. It is a huge room and it would take a lot of rugs to cover it. I think carpet is the better option. I'll probably end up finding something on craigslist if someone here doesn't have something. I just figured it is best to ask here first. Perhaps someone is carpeting and has some old carpet to donate or new leftovers.

On ebay, there's an ebay seller, who has an "ebay store" by the name of RegencyRugs...I've bought from them before. You can get big whole room rugs and smaller sizes too for cheap. I got an 8' x 11' rug for $100 which is very cheap for that size. It's kind of that industrial stength weave type of thing made in Belgium...but hey, it works! Very easy to clean. And there are many styles/patterns/colors to choose from.
Thought you might like to check them out...look for the seller "regencyrugs" and then you can go right to all their available rugs...same sizes tend to be clumped together and there are many pages to look at.

Leaf, how has the rug held up? I had an 8 x 11 rug that developed a wrinkle in it and it drove us nuts, always tripping over it. I finally gave it away, and want to buy another one, but don't want to spend big bucks again if the same thing is going to happen.

Monkey,
It's held up well. I've had it for over 2 years, maybe 3. In this house, I've got it over carpet and the furniture is anchoring it down...I don't have a liner that'll work for rug to carpet. In my old house, it was on a wood floor under the dining table and on a no- slip liner. I've got three kids and cats...and this rug has endured spills of many kinds. I vaccuum it all the time (it's main background color is black so it shows every crumb). No wrinkles or kinks...lays flat well. Except I do have one disobedient corner, and that is due to the fact that it's sitting on carpet and the kids have tamed it to go up. I have to retrain it by folding it under and stomping on it!
For $100, I think it's been well worth it...I'd get one again.

Thanks so much oakhurstleaf! I browsed the store and they do have great deals. I will save them for future use.
My aunt found me a White berber carpet 10 x 10 for $50 in great shape. I'm gonna pick it up tomorrow. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif

Carpet stores sell remnants for great prices...anywhere from $80 or $90 on up ...might check there. I got a 26 by 12 remnant from the one on 41 near Oakhurst rocks for like $90
