As I promised, What kinds of draft beer would you like to see served at the Oak Room?
We had to replace the old draft beer unit with a new one, so we upgraded to a 5 keg machine.
Here's your chance to vote on the draft beer you'd like to see. Pick up to 5, or provide your own favorite in your reply.

Gotta keep the Fat Tire! And Guiness would be good to have as the Europeans start coming for the season.

Im a Microbrew nut, and the one thats still considered a microbrew ale is Fat Tire, the rest have gone beyond microbrewing are are not done in small batches anymore, and not considered microbrews.
Like to see local MicroBreweries, like fresno's Microbrewery, or even El Toro MicroBrewery from Morgan Hill.
Dont drink domestic beers...yuck!!! : )

You really should get New Castle on tap!!! You will probably notice that New Castle is one of your most popular beers, so it makes sense to have it on tap. Fat Tire is my second favorite. Spaten is great on tap! I also suggest Pyramid's Hefeweizen.

We've had a couple other suggestions that I hadn't thought of: Heinekin, Fosters, Arrogant Bastard. Can you think of more possibilities that might work well?

We just got a couple of cases of Stella Artois bottles. They're pretty good - its from Belgium, and tastes kind of like a Heinekin - but I think it'd be a really good draft beer.

It looks VERY tempting, David. I'll try to see if our distributors can get it (under the Govt's ABC rules, we can't order from websites or anyone else besides our distributors - - the Gov't must be able to track and collect their income tax, don't 'cha know!)

If it is the same stuff I had a few years ago, it's fantastic. Nice and crisp, strong, very fruity, with a nice clean finish. Well crafted. It would be great for the summer.

As one of the new owners of the Oak Room, I thought our little tavern did pretty well today.
Around noon we got hit with around 40 to 50 bikers who were out on a poker run. Luckily we had 4 family members and a friend there and we all jumped behind the bar. I'm pretty sure no one had to wait more than a minute or two for their drinks, which is pretty good for getting such an unexpected crowd within the space of about ten minutes!
It was a fun group. They had a drink or two (many had soda's) as well as a raffle, then they took off to their next stop. It felt like a swarm of locusts had hit us - no negative connotation intended, it was just an unexpectedly large group coming all at once.
If you were a part of this group, I'd be interested in your comments and feedback.
