Thanks for posting this. I would love to have Amber Alerts show up automatically on this site, but I have not found an easy way to implement that as of yet.

It would be a really good thing to add to the site, I think I mentioned that to you recently. I know you can get a ticker from CodeAmber.org, but not sure if it is what you want or if it is compatable with the software.
What really upset me (and All abductions upset me) was this boy was abducted by a stranger, many of the abductions are from a family member or person known to the child. This is really scary.

Yes, you sent me a PM on this and I remember discussing this with you several months ago when I mentioned that an Amber Alert is something I'd like to implement on the site. I think we discussed it a few times, in fact. Thanks for that website. I contacted them to see if there is a solution that would work for this site.

Oh, how devistating. I get the amber alerts on my cell phone and when they sent one saying it was cancelled, I assumed they found him well. I'm so sad.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) - Bakersfield police say the body of a
9-year-old boy reported kidnapped near his home this morning has
been found in a nearby field and it appears his death was an
accident. Another child reported Zane Newton had been abducted but
police say it now appears that child made up the story. Authorities
initially issued an Amber Alert but have since canceled it.

My heart goes out to this boy's family. KMPH News said the little boy had crawled into a hole that subsequently caved in on him. We, my friends and I, use to dig underground caves and tunnels in the empty lots in the neighborhood all the time when were that same age without giving a second thought about the danger involved--which is probably a very normal for that age.
The topic at our dinner table tonight, after we heard the abduction was falsely reported, was about how many vehicles matched the description of the alleged vehicle and how many unnecessary, felony/take-down type traffic stops happened in California today prior to the cancellation of the Amber Alert?

This is so sad. I was watching tv when the amber alert went out~ but I didnt know he had been found yet, until now.
We too used to play in "underground" forts as we called them. But then we played in groups, and were not alone usually~ not that that would have made a big difference in the time it would have taken to get help, in saving the little boy.....
My heart and prayers go out to this childs family
