Who is going to dress up this year for Halloween? What are you going to be?

Not sure what I'll be yet, but I am going to dress up this year. Any costume ideas for me? http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/lol.gif

I'll probably wear whatever I end up wearing to that Mardi Gras thing at the Pines this Friday ... kill 2 birds with one stone.

Not sure yet because I don't know what we will be doing. I really think an OF Halloweenie party should be in order http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/yes.gif

Our dance recital last June, us older gals did a number to "hey big spender" So I will put that costume back in to use and be a flapper http://image52.webshots.com/152/3/95/11/462039511YvlXHg_ph.jpg

I know that a lot of people like to dress up in sexy costumes and that is cool, but I always like to go as the ugliest, scariest witch that ever was. The makeup, etc., can itch after a while, but it is sooooo much fun to see people's reactions. Most people can doll themselves up to look attractive, they do it every day (ho-hum)... but it is way more fun to scare the cr-p out of people! muahahahahaaaaaaaa *CatdaBrat flies away on her broom*

I dont really like to be ugly, scary things. Theres enough of that in the world already. I think one year I was a vampire, and thats about as dark as Ive ever been. I almost always go as some cartoon character. This year Im going to be a princess, but Im not saying which princess http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/wink3.gif

I saw a lot of those M & M costumes at the Chocolate Festival, the W.W.W. wear them.

I have a witches costume I made, with cape and a store bought hat that has flashing lights. I carry either my black talking Raven, or my wooden Buzzard around with me. My face is green, my lips and eyes black. I cackle when I answer the door and I also have a little broom and a long black and grey streaked wig. The kids love it.

myhome -- that's usually the response I get from kids, too -- it's normally the adults that think it's too scary or don't like it. I kinda like the way a costume can actually "make fun" of something scary. Better to laugh at a cackling witch and know it's just for fun, rather than huddling under the covers. I wouldn't try to scare really small children with my get-up, but the ones around school age get a real kick out of it. Cackling is fun, huh!

I need a large black piece of material. Not for halloween, but for jai's senior project. Anyone know where I can get one up here?

best bet would be either bear paw quilts or thrift stores - some of 'em might have black sheets...

Does it have to be cloth material? I may have some leftover black tarpish stuff around here somewhere

tarp might work. he's gotta make some kind of a mask. he's constructing the frame out of wire. i'll keep looking.
