Does anyone know how I can get a copy of "As We Were Told" an oral history published by the Coarsegold Historical Society about 20 years ago? I've been able to borrow a copy but I'd like one to keep

Thanks!
Tom

Sure do, Barnes & Nobles has it for $38.00 bucks, or $40.00 bucks if your not a member.

Thanks for helping him out Brew. Yes, Tom... welcome to the forums. I hope you enjoy your stay.

You posted this topic twice (against forum rules), so I removed one of the topics. It makes it easier to keep track of. Now you don't have to go to two places to read replies. http://oakhurstforums.com/icon/wink2.gif

I would imagine a elderly retired teacher from this area would have one or the library will get one for you. Dodie

Thanks for the response, Dodie. I was able to locate a copy of "As We Were Told" on Amazon.

Hi, I know you may think it unusual that I recommend an elderly teacher, but those of you who are really interested in the local histories of Coarsegold, Raymond or any of these towns, do not let those little old ladies pass on without interviewing them. They remember details that some of you would blush about. Dodie

I'm not too sure if she's still alive, but Ina Muller could fill your head with stories, I'm sure. She used to live on Muller Road, but I think it's been re-named Paloma Road now.

Ina is alive & well but lives off & on in Balize.
Richard Muller is a history buff as he grew up here & his Mother was Lilly Light, a strong lady in Coarsegold History, there are still many who are old timers, like Ray Ruell....

Barnes and Noble have a used book store on line. It is really a network of used booksellers over the county who list with them online. I have gotten several out of print and used books. There is one available now about Yosemite which is $3.10, another, 5.00 and then 23.00 (this one is signed) They are in various conditions which you are told also. The most expensive that I have found was a 1886 Beers History of ______ Co. OH for $180 or so. A lot of money for a book.

Just an update if anyone is still interested. Ina and Richard are my grandparents. Ina's new name is Ina Puckett, and she lives around here again. Richard still lives in Coarsegold, on Paloma Rd. He could tell you just about anything you want to know about the history around here! If anyone would like to get into contact with either of them just let me know.
