Not that this is anything unusual, but early this morning a mountain lion killed and partially ate a deer in my driveway. I live across from Manzanita Lake, in case anybody else on the forums lives in this general area.
I am keeping my cat indoors for a while. Already had a bobcat chase her right up onto the deck -- don't need a bigger kittie doing the same!
Anyway, it's just a "heads-up" so people can be aware and maybe keep a closer eye on their pets. Lions hafta eat, but hopefully they will stick to a deer diet.
A few years ago, though, a neighborhood dog was dragged off by a lion, and somebody in Oakhurst reported a lion got their little dog right off their porch ... so you never know.
