I would try the following:
... Take the printer offline (or turn the power off)
... Remove the paper and then re-insert (make sure that there is not too much paper, this makes both of my printers really cranky), making sure that the paper in all of the way "in"
... Take the printer back online (or power back on) after at least 60 seconds, and hopefully it will re-set.

If this doesn't work, it is likely that the software installed for your printer has a help manual either computer (look in "Programs" for Lexmark), and if not, look online for your model..
Hope this helps, and Good Luck!

Another thing that makes mine "cranky".....( cute Iris lol ! ) is if it has "sensed" that I have put in a off brand or "other than the brand of my printer" ink cartridge~ ! Grrr...but it does !
Also, if just turning the printer off doesnt work, ( by using the power switch ) try disconnecting the power supply completely ( from the wall or behind the printer itself ) so it has no power going to it. One lexmark I used to have, when it messed up, had to be powered off completely....
(unplugged !) Good luck !
