I'm looking for a dependable, trustworthy individual who can do some hauling from the Cedar Valley area. Mostly construction debris (wood roofing planks and old deck lumber) and some old furniture. I'm guessing about 2 pickup loads now... but better if this person has some handyman capabilites for small jobs.
I'd like to get a referral from someone who has direct experience with a local hauler/handyman. We've been ripped off before and are a little hesitant to trust just anyone.
Thanks!
Mike

Some friends of mine hired a local handyman/hauler to do a cleanup on their job site and not only did he overcharge them, but he hauled away (stole) a few items that they didn't want hauled away. It's a shame because I used to refer a lot of business his way. Needless to say, I can't recommend him anymore. However, Mystee has posted a name and number of a guy that she uses. Perhaps she can post it again here for you. Best of luck to you and please come back here to post your reviews on the person you find so that others can use him/her. I often have some misc. work around my house and would like a nice, trustworthy, dependable and affordable person. :)

Leave Tocools a message on here. He'll haul stuff away for you.

I found Mystee's post...

I've used Dan Medina for my tree trimming, yardwork and all around handyman type stuff too.
His number is 642-6996

He shows up when he says he will, he cleans up after himself and he's reasonably priced.

Thanks, Sandman... I had seen Mystee's post too. It amazes me that trustworthy and dependable are hard to find qualities. If my company ever goes belly up, I'm going to take my truck and offer my handyman services... it seems that just having those two qualities will get you all the work you need! :D

We don't live fulltime in Cedar Valley so I need to trust the person doing the work. Affordable would be nice. We just needed some new decking and roofing work done last month. I ended up having a contractor that I knew from here in Santa Barbara do it. It cost a lot but it was still cheaper than when the last local guy took our upfront money, stole some furniture and didn't do the work!

Beautiful Mess38,
Thanks for the tip.
Have you had Tocools do some work for you?

Mike,
Have you tried your Disposal Service if they drop off and pickup the trash bins? Emadco here even drops off the 20 foot containers.
After being dissappointed in paying someone, I had our disposal service drop off some bins and filled them myself with all our construction trash.
The last one I ordered was a 20 foot container with open doors which came to $250 plus $42(if I remember right)per ton and since I had the container, I started trimming and dumping the big branches in it. It was nice to walk in and toss.
In your last post, you sounded like you could handle the labor part :)

Hi Sewmaui,
Great thinking outside the box... or should that be inside the container? :-)
I hadn't thought of that! I could probably wait for the next phase of work and just fill the container completely.
The only worry is that driveway access is difficult. I'll give them a call and look into it.
Thanks.

Too Cools is also our friend -his wife was our real estate agent when we moved here 5 years ago - how we met him. He has hauled stuff for us 2 times for a fee. He's affordable and shows up!
