I was looking over the Advertiser last night and noticed that Little Ceasars will be opening in Oakhurst next to Quizno's and Jamba Juice. They are having a Job interview day on Saturday if anybody is interested. What does eveybody think about ANOTHER Pizza place in town?

There are too many in my opinion. And it's not really in a good location, but I wish the owners well.

With this economy, restaurants are struggling. To open another option for anything in this town is spelling death for the originals-- Pizza Factory. I hope that won't be the case, but when you have so much competition, especially from large chains (though PFact is a chain as well-- it has it's roots here in town though) the smaller guy usually loses.

I worry for the other fantastic restaurants in town, Todd's, Pete's... their prices are a bit more (justifiably) than the McD's and Jack's and I hope they survive the winter.

We really like both Quizno's and Jamba Juice but we do not go in that center because of the parking, I am thinking of changing my cell phone carrier because of the parking situation. We already have a good choice of pizza places in town and unless Little Ceasar's has really improved in the past 10 years, I wish the new owners well.

I have to agree with everyone so far. The last time I ate at a Little Ceasars (over 16 years ago) the pepperoni was actually green..Yuck! not very good. The Pizza Factory is good, sometimes a little greasy but love the breadsticks!!! Its a good place for family pizza night I am definetly going to continue eating there. It will be interesting to see how far out LC decides to deliver. I live in Bass Lake and have only been fortunate to get Me & Eds to deliver out there one time when they first opened. The power was out and it was a good night for Pizza and game night! I was so thankful. Pizza factory delivery wont go past Old Corral, and Round Table always says no, but I have seen the delivery car in the area before.

Yep the parking in that lot is horrible I went to Quiznos a couple months back. I was in there long enough to eat my sandwich I came out and somebody had left there rubber from their tire along with some Red paint all down the driver side of my car. I decided I will just park on 41 from now on or park all the way in the back by Starbucks.

Pizza Factory inside hasn't suffered much ..I think due to the variety of foods...I think the deliveries have been less .....I doubt you have to worry about Pizza Factory from competiton from the others in this town.

Pizza Factory will stay and make the business because they are such a high supporter of our football from high school to our youth football.. we are in there almost every friday and/or Saturday. they do have a awesome family deal way cheaper then any other pizza place... plus there salad bar and so many other things you can choose from... love that place... and keeps the kids pretty happy in the game room...

Pizza Factory will never be hurt by other places... I figured it would when Round table went in. they are way to expensive....

I have to say, I may not have made it through my early, broke, and starving, college years without Little Ceasars Pizza. Not my choice for pizza now, but back then I could live on pizza for under $20 a week!! LOL And, I did!

In these economic times, it will take more than being a "high supporter" of the football team for businesses to survive. It will depend on service, quality of food, price and selection on the menu, and mostly on hard work and good business sense. No business should develope a complacency based on being supportive of school sports. There's too much competition out there and the latest "fad" could put a sleeping "oldie but goodie" right out of business if they're not paying attention.

You can still get what you need for AT&T from Radio shack. They just dont have their own building anymore.

I have AT&T, been a customer of theirs since....too long ago to remember. I can upgrade this month and my contract ends in Feb. I really wanted new phones but I think I will wait and switch to Verison in Feb. That is only three months, I can put up with most anything for three months.

I tried to log in to the STI hotspot at Starbucks which has been hosted in the ceiling of the location where Little Ceasars has moved into and it was not available. I was told that they had torn it out and refused to host it. I went over there to politely explain that as the only ISP in town, many residents depend on it to get online in this shopping center. I respectfully suggested that as a new restaurant, supporting the needs of the local community would be a better way to build their customer base, rather than leaving us high and dry. I was told "whatever, get out". Wow! I certainly won't be buying pizza there with an attitude like that and I hope the rest of the community joins me in saying NO to chains coming in here and being so disrespectful to the people who are going to be keeping them in business during the winter when there are no tourists.

Maybe Starbucks should put the wi-fi in. Why should the Pizza place supply and subscribe for it. I am sure the customers ordering pizza for take out wont be utilizing this service I don't feel they should have to supply the service as the customers likely would be using it next door. JMO

How rude! We could all go in there and ask for WIFI and then when they say no, just say, Oh Well, I'll make Pizza at home, I guess (I have a good recipe).
Dumb dumbs.

Good idea about Starbucks, though, or maybe Jamba Juice. Somebody tell 'em!

I followed up my own suggestion and called STI.

They referred me to http://www.sti.net/s-hotspot.html
which showed the following Hot Spots.

Round Table
Yosemiet Coffee
Cool Beans
Starbucks/Quiznos

When I asked specifically about the Ceasars vs Starbucks Hot Spot, the tech said hwe had heard it was going to be moved. He said he would check and get back to me on that.

Stay Tuned....

In response to the last few posts...

Starbucks can't put in an STI hotspot because corporate has an exclusivity contract with T-mobile, which is completely reasonable. It just doesn't make any sense at this particular location because there are no T-mobile customers up here.

Obviously, people picking up pizza won't be using it, but newcomers to town who want to establish a happy customer base should be community players. There are at least 3 other places to go for pizza and with that much competition in such a small town, sometimes you have to go above and beyond. Also, they don't have to subscribe to it. There is no charge for hosting it other than a negligible amount of power for the router.

Jamba juice is too far away from SB, the signal would be too weak.

Yes, the Grind has an STI hotspot, but that chick that owns it is a freak and totally weirds me out. When my second son was born with jaundice becase he was face presentation and came out a little bruised, she tried to convince me that he had hepatitis, lol.

STI says they are negotiating with other people in the same center and if/when they can get the hot spot up again they will update the web site at:

http://www.sti.net/s-hotspot.html

You know the folks at Cool Beans are nice and maybe they would appriciate the biz if you show up early enough. I think SBuck gets more late business because of their longer hours.

I'm sure STI will work something out with the very nice owner of Quiznos and for now I'm using an air card. Its just the principle of the thing... I'm stubborn like that :)

I know I should support Cool Beans instead of the "Evil Empire", but like chatting with people I know here at SB. Cool Beans has that great patio though... ack! I'm hijacking the Little Ceasars thread into a coffee shop thread. I'll shut up now.

We have an STI hotspot at the NGI in Fish Camp. We weren't able to afford it and STI paid for the install and equipment, but they get all the revenue from non STI customers. It was a win-win situation

If Little Caesars is a take-out only place, I predict they will be out of business before next summer. I don't see any tables and chairs in there for the customers. So why would anybody buy pizza in there (which I hear is really bad pizza) and take it out when you can go over to Von's or Raley's and take out a better pizza at a cheaper price???? And if they have this hostility toward the locals, that's like committing professional suicide. Maybe we should start a pool to see how soon they go belly up....

Little Caesar was the bad-*** gangster character played by Edward G. Robinson in the movie "Little Caesar" (1930), which was probably the first gangster film made that was a talkie. He got gunned down by the cops in the final scene. Great movie. Maybe the pizza place named themselves after his character because they seem to be equally anti-social.

Has anybody had Shakey's pizza? I don't even know if there are any around here, but they are all over LA. When I used to play piano in Shakey's, I would get free pizza. Not that it was great pizza...which it wasn't...but the fact that it was free made it a lot more tasty. When I was going to Cal State Northridge, Shakey's would have this "all you can eat" lunch which had pizza and chicken. Needless to say, a bunch of hungry college kids kept them busy at lunch time.

We got Little Ceasar's for dinnr tonight. Large Pepporoni, Lg 1/2 Cheese 1/2 Pineapple, and 2 of the Italian Cheesey Breadsticks for just under $20. I really liked the breadsticks ($3.99) and the pizza was fine. Not great but not bad. (LG Pepporoni or Lg Cheese only $5) They could not make deep dish becaue they "were sent the wrong pans" and should have the right pans in about a week. Deep Dish cheese or pep $7.99 so I don't know if I would pay that much extra for it. It was ready quickly but they were very heaily staffed in true new restaraunt form so I don't know if that will last. For the price, we will go back.

I picked up a couple pizzas for our office on Monday and everone was very impressed with what we got for the money. They were fresh and tasty.

I told my wife how good they were so I decided to take on home for lunch on Tuesday. I got there at 11:00 and was unable to purchase one as their cash register was not working and was told to come back in a half hour. I had groceries in the car so i drove home, unloaded them and then returned for the pizza... I got the 'Hot N Ready' cheese that I promised my wife would be so delicious, and drove home a second time, now starving.

When I got home I opened the box and was confronted with the most aweful looking, burnt, dry pizza I had ever seen. It seriously looked like it was left over from the night before (one that had not sold), been refrigerated then semi-reheated the next day.

I was so disappointed I called the customer service number on the box and they said day old pizzas were not supposed to be sold and they would contact the owner and have him get in touch with me. That was two days ago, still no return phone call (not that I really expected one).

I will try it again because it is so cheap and the ones we had on Monday were fine, but I will be opening the box to inspect the pizza before I walk out the door next time!!!

My husband and I were running errands in Oakhurst today so we stopped at Little Caesars and got 1/2 pepperoni and half cheese. Drove over to the park and ate it. We were soooo surprised at how good it was. Very hot, the crust was great and there was just the right amount of sauce, pepperoni and cheese. Be both agreed it is very much like the pizza we grew up with on the east coast, like a walk down the street in New York City.

O.K. broke down and gave it a try today. I must say it was pretty good. Think I'll have to try the hot wings next and maybe one of their other Pizza's with a variety of toppings on it. Those were still really cheap. I think $12 was the highest one. Can't beat that price since the Pizza Factory usually costs me about $20+ for a meal.

My opinion, not bad especially for $5!

Okay...so I finally went and tried Little Ceasers Pizza (quite reluctantly so, because the tv advertisment "PIZZA, PIZZA" has been permantly stuck in my head) BUT it for a total of $5.39 including tax I got a large, warm, rather decent pizza in less than 5 minutes. It was a great price for a great pizza. I give them my two thumbs up...Specially for my son's coming up B-day...it would have been over $50 to get pizza for the clan at Pizza Factory and now will be under $20..Woo Hoo!!

I fed my family and my dog for under 14 dollars last night. It isn't the most healthy thing in the world, isn't the best pizza ever, but it is five dollars. The breadsticks are fantastic! They come eight for two dollars.

And I was in and out of there in less than five minutes. They even helped me carry the pizza to my car (I had baby in carrier).

I broke down and stopped by there last night to get dinner. I ordered a speacialty pizza, that usually costs me over $20, no matter where I buy it from and I got the crazy bread (my new favorite thing!) All for under $12. My husband wasn't overjoyed about it, but after two pieces of pizza and a few breadsticks, he admitted that it wasn't so bad and was quite filling....will possibly be our new Friday night pizza place.

Like I said in an earlier post "I hope that Little Caesars doesn't cause little seizures". MSG is a neurotoxin and should be avoided.

I read an article about franchises and their promotional products. Little Caesar's makes $.90 on every $5.00 pizza sold. They hope to make up the difference on the $10. pizzas, wings, bread and drinks. We buy there because there is usually no waiting and my son loves them.
