Fire Burns Million Dollar Home in Bass Lake

This morning just before 11AM a 2 Million Dollar lake front home burned. This observer believes it is a total loss. The house was a vacation home owned by a Fresno resident. The owners were not home at the time it started but by chance arrived 15 minutes after the fire started. Two adjacent home were saved by the first responders. In all about 35 firefighters worked the fire. Crews will be there all night to make sure the fire is completely out and cold. The cause is unknown.

Fire causes $1 million damage to Bass Lake homeThe Fresno Bee11/02/08 15:54:14Fire caused at least $1 million damage to a two-story home on the east side of Bass Lake today, Cal Fire reported.
The home at 39338 Blue Jay Drive, valued at about $1.5 million, caught fire about 10:15 a.m., said Cal Fire Battalion Chief Don Stein. The fire was contained by 2:30 p.m.

The two-story single-family dwelling was unoccupied at that time, Stein said. No one was injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation, he said.
