It depends on how good a bike you want. I got a great deal from the bike shop in behind McDonalds. Check them out.

http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/yes.gif Got mine there a couple of years ago. I bought a 'last years' model at considerable discount. I never realized bicycles were like cars in that aspect.

yup I can relate to THAT one. If you make it from Yose gates to Oaky... then you can try Lake Tahoe.

But that's all downhill! http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif
Going around Tahoe in a day is a good grunt. I wouldn't want to try it on a mountain bike, though.
If you're interested in distance, you have to ride distance. Start with 25 miles and some rolling hills, and add 10 miles every weekend. You'll be at 100 in no time at all...

Once BGirlsworld wanted me to do a training ride from Oaky to Narrow Gauge Inn.. I said Id rather do Walker Grade (NorthFork) than risk my life on 41. When this arm of mine is healed.. im gonna take my road bike up to Yose and ride around the valley. In fact, Im doing a 100 mile ride in September on the Coast. Thankfullly its mostly flat http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif Cos after Tahoe Im SICK OF HILLS!
