I'm 20 minutes away from Shaver and 1 mile from any County road. No neighbors. There have been a couple of times where I've had to call the Sheriff or Forest Service Law Enforcement. Response time is slow. I dread the day day that I ever have to defend myself from some defective unit. Do you pull the trigger and worry about it later? The problem is, the perpetrator usually has nothing to lose and the victim who defends himself is looked at as the law breaker for defending himself. Your thoughts?

Do like everyone else up in the mountains and get some guns. Better yet, get a concealed weapon permit and take the classes that teach you WHEN to shoot and when the law is on your side. Self defense is about the only reason you can kill somebody. You CAN'T kill somebody for tresspassing on your property or just making threats. But if he's reaching into a pocket like he's going for a gun, then you blow the SOB away. But you will still have to deal with the legal system to a point, and still may end up in court. So you would be well advised to take a class on how to legally use fire power.
