Along with the many great suggestions for where to go to get a Christmas tree, I'd like to add...

If it's a little drive for you, it's worth it. So charming, a lot of "bang for your buck," and all the little extras that make mountain life so lovely at times.

Check out the website, that is, if you aren't getting your tree at the Auction tonight!

any idea of the general price of a tree there?

Really varies, depending on both the height of the tree and the number of branches - ours is about 4 1/2 feet or maybe 5' and it was $40. They say it's about $10 per foot but you can find beautiful ones there for less. They also give you a lovely sugar pine cone. We had them take our picture for our Christmas card, the back ground is so pretty. I think you will love it.

looks like good prices, now we'll see if I can talk my husband into going there. Wish me luck!

Hey - if you come over Deadwood south on 41 then turn left on 420 and go up toward Mudge Ranch and then cross over onto that red dirt fire road, take it to the end and turn right - you're not that far from this Christmas tree place. It seems like a big time saver to me, because we live off of 420. If you call me I'll come out on the road and wave as you speed by!

Good luck!
