I love watching movies at the Met Cinema. The staff has always been 100% when I have been there... and I have been going there since 1988. The prices are way better than Fresno theaters. I'd much rather stay up here to see a movie. Who wants to drive all the way to Fresno to see a movie anyways? I only go there if it's not being played up here.

I went to see a movie with Corky and a few other friends last Sunday. The theater was pretty packed, but the line moved along very fast and the theater looks a lot cleaner now. The cup holders are a big plus!!!

Anyway, I just realized that I have never had a bad experience at the Met. The Met gets a 5 star rating from me. http://oakhurstforums.com/icon/applause.gif

You sure can't beat the price to get in, compared to prices in the valley. I can't afford to take my grandkids unless they are up here visiting and we go to the Met, and they get a kick out of taking that popcorn bucket back in and getting the popcorn for half price. Just wish sometimes that they'd turn the volume down a bit!

My absolute favorite thing to do is to go to the MET...I also love that they have those little red cards that they stamp. so I fill a few up for times when I'm low on funds I can still go see a movie.

I was in Fresno last Tuesday so we went to a movie there and I hated the theatre, and the popcorn sucked!

they have these red stamp cards, they don't really mention them, but I always ask for one, when you get it stamped 10 times, which means each time you pay for a movie, you get it stamped and then when its full, you can use it for a free movie. http://oakhurstforums.com/icon/eusa_dance.gif
I usually save them, they fill up fast with me and my 3 kids going to the movies. http://oakhurstforums.com/icon/rolleyes2.gif So then I save them until I really want to see a movie when theres a time I can't really spend the money.

Just used my met savings red card to see Meet the Fockers. the movie was good and it was nice that rusty has those red cards so after 10 visits your 11th is free.
Thank You to Rusty and the Met Staff for giving us good , clean theatres to visit. http://oakhurstforums.com/icon/applause.gif

Yes! I love the Met.
Don't tell anyone, but when my husband and I were really poor (like barely feeding yourself poor) they Rusty paid our way into some movies. Is that an amazing guy or what?
/hugs to the met and I pray you are truely blessed indeed!

Met Cinema is the best bang for your buck on the mountain. I love to just listen to Rusty preview the movies on the phone. Price, the best anywhere. The movies are excellent, the facility is clean and friendly.

Only complaint and it's not the Met's fault. Rusty doesn't dare bring somre of the movies he could because of others wanting to push there moral standards on the rest of us.

Met Cinema is the best deal in town.

Well, maybe they can't win for losing, and they do have MILK and FROST/NIXON right now, but it irks me when the Met doesn't have ONE PG movie like NOW. It's all PG-13 and R. Boo.

On the other hand, there have been week after week that all the movies seem to be oriented towards kids and teens, with an occasional "chick flic" thrown in. :)

I would just be happy if the web site would let us know "last week" so if there was one I really wanted to see up here I would know I had better not wait. I know the owners don't always know what movies they are going to get, but maybe they have a few days notice before one goes away and the web could give us a "heads up."

LOL Kellie...they can't dictate when they get the new movies so it seems they either have an abundance of G and PG or like it is this week. I for one am just glad they are here. :)

Yeah, ok, you're both right, and it's not like BB doesn't have a billion movies for kids, or kids won't watch one DVD a billion times (mine at least) so I take back my complaining. Oh save me, I'm about to hear "Banana Smoothie" from the Naked Brothers Band CD so I guess I can easily find something else to be bothered with!

I too wish they would put the movies that are leaving on their website. I also wish they'd put what's coming...would make it a lot easier to plan if you knew more than a day before.

Last time I went to a movie at the Met, the lobby was very crowded and I noticed that they had 2 movies starting at the same time. Looking at their schedule today, they have 3 movies starting at the same time. What a STUPID schedule. It makes for difficult parking and leaving with all those cars, a backup at the ticket counter and a HUGE line to get drinks, popcorn, etc. The line was so long, we passed on the treats. Since I don't want to deal with that again, I'm not going to the movies today and will probably bring in my own treats in the future.

Probably cause it saves them payroll....if they can control when the rush of customers comes in they can only schedule employee's for 4 hours. Might not be what they're doing but it is definately not very considerate from the patron point of view. They could start them at least a 1/2 hour apart and probably not have such chaos....or annoyed customers!

That's one of the reasons I more often than not choose to go to Edwards.

Last time I went the Popcorn seemed stale to me too.

I'm irritated that so many movies I want to see only last 1 week and other movies seem to stay forever. And you never know which will stay or go in advance. If I had known, I would have scheduled which ones to see differently. Now I have to go to Fresno or wait until they are released for rental and download. And the Met loses that much more money from me. A lose-lose situation that could be solved by a small note on their web site letting us know how long it will be here.

Or just a quick phone call, they will be happy to tell you what they are getting, when it will be here and how long it is staying. Very nice people.

There is also the chance they scheduled them at requests from patrons who might allow children to go to one while parents go to another...still not great for the treat line tho. And for parking. But I think they would consider suggestions..they seem super nice to me.

DQ, You are right. I could call them. But, it's not always at a time when someone will answer the inside phone. 683-2345 or something like that? I know the 1234 number is the prerecorded one.

I am an internet creature. When I think about the Met, I look at the schedule on the web and plan accordingly. For me, phones and faxes are "old" technology. :)

RM, for the most part I just look at the schedule on line too. But, I avoid Fresno, so if I want to know if they will be getting a movie I do call.

Me too, I avoid fresno, so I plan to get to the theatre a half an hour early and that way I don't have to rush, I realize that wont work for everyone, but it works for me.
