Good point Newcomer. As for me, I have my security system in place with cameras. If someone even comes to my front door, I get an immediate photo sent to my cell phone. Plus my house is very secure with digital deadbolts and my neighbor is keeping an eye on things. Also, a friend will be checking on my house for me and may even stay here. My neighbor knows the friend. Between all of that, I'm not worried.
Where did you get your digital deadbolts at? I want to get some

I don't even know what a digital deadbolt is. We just have regular deadbolts, even our new storm doors came with deadbolts.

I got mine on eBay. Do a search for "Digital Deadbolt":

The one I got came with a keychain remote control. This comes in handy when I am upstairs and someone is at my door. I can remotely unlock the door. If someone tampers with the lock or enters incorrect codes, it triggers an alarm.

Less than a week until Christmas. I am very excited to get out of the snow and into some sun. :)
Digital deadbolts sound way to cool.

A lot of new homes are built with these kind of locks installed. You have a key, but there is also a digital (glow in the dark) keypad. You can program multiple codes to work. This works out real nice for programing a special code for a house sitter or roommate. Then you can remove the code when you want to. You don't have to worry about people making a copy of your key. Or let's say there is an emergency and you need a friend to check on your house. Give your friend a code to get in. Several of my friends have a code to get in. I can remove the codes later if I want to. It's quicker to enter a code than it is to find the right key. Never worry about getting locked out of your house. Mine has the wireless remote that you can put on your keychain. I can unlock my front door while I am pulling into my driveway, freeing up my hands to carry things in. My living room is upstairs so it's nice to have the ability to unlock my front door without having to go downstairs. They make these digital locks in deadbolt or door handle form, so you can even have two on your front door. One on the handle and a deadbolt.
I am going to buy another one to replace the deadbolt from my garage door since I'll be parking my new car in the garage and coming in from that door instead of the front door.
The one I have on my front door is slightly different, but here is an example...

I think Sandman should start a home security business! With all the little trick and gadgets he has hooked up to his house the crooks don't stand a chance!

Some neighborhood teenagers broke into my house. After that happened, I purchased my digital locks and cameras. My house is extremely secure now. The cameras upload to my web server offsite via a wireless cellular Internet connection. The computer and cameras are on a battery backup system in case power is cut. I can view my cameras from any computer with Internet... or from my phone. :)
One of the kids confessed. If something like that happens again, no confession needed. I'll have video and audio. :)

See....that's exactly what I'm talking about. I bet many would like to have their homes that secure too!!
