Hey DQ welcome back!! I'm glad that you like them. I enjoy getting them each day. Some make you ponder and some just make you smile.

I was thinking that they were a waste of time since no one ever say anything about them but I continue to put them up daily (as long as I remember) because I enjoy them and who knows one day someone might just need the "message" to help get them through a rough spot :yes:

When I get really upset about something it takes me a while, sometimes, minutes, sometimes hours and sometimes days to remember that I just need to give it to God. It is amazing how much better I feel. Someday I will just go there directly and save myself a lot of pain.

Isn't that the truth! Since I've started doing this I have so much less stress. On a recent trip to the Dr. they were concerened over my Blood Pressure or lack there of LOL!!

Sometimes when I feel as if my words, thoughts, or actions are not going to be kind, I just try to close my eyes and breath that spirt of love, thoughtfullness and kindness in before I open my mouth. He is required to sit on a stump the whole night and never remove the blindfold until the rays of the morning sun shine through it. He cannot cry out for help to anyone. Once he survives the night, he is a MAN. He cannot tell the other boys of his experience, because each boy must come to manhood on his own.
The boy is naturally terrified. He can hear all kinds of noises. Wild beasts must surely be all around him. Maybe even human s might harm him. The wind blew the grass and the earth shook but he sits on his stump stoically, never removing the blindfold. It is the only way he can become a man.
Finally, after a horrific night he feels the sun's rays and removes his blindfold. It was then that he discovers his father sitting on the stump next to him. He has been at watch the entire night, protecting his son from harm.
We, too, are not alone..Even when we don't know it, God is watching over us, sitting on the stump beside us. When trouble comes all we have to do is reach out for him. If you like this legend pass it on to a friend, if you don't you probably took your blindfold off before dawn.

Simplicity brings true rest and peace. I saw this so much in the hill country of Tuscany. Such a simple life style and such happy people.

I am going to look into what it would be like to move there. Sounds like my kinda place.

When I visited Brazil, I was amazed at all the happiest people I have ever seen, yet they had basically nothing. (Not to imply that the Tuscans are in poverty.) The scene that touched me the most was a family that was so poor, they had only a one-room shack with no doors or window glass, just ragged pieces of cloth in the openings. They cooked outside on an old oil drum and dried their laundry on bushes and driftwood. Nobody had any shoes. There were no toys that I could see, no car.....just a lot of nothing. One of their kids came running to their "house" carrying a fish that some fisherman had given to him. The boy was screaming with delight, and everybody came out of their hut as excited as if Santa had just left them a sleigh full of presents.

When I got back to the U.S., all I seemed to hear was crabbing and complaining everywhere I went. And we are supposed to be the fortunate ones! It was an eye-opener, that's for sure.

Sorry, I didn't mean to stray off the reminders-from-God subject, but it is sorta related.

Thank you, I feel it is very related. The parts of Italy that we visited we really did not see poverty, just a very simple life style. Tiny little refrigerators, so they shop every day, just a leasurly strole to the market, no one rushing, no one angry because they are at the back of the line and the lady in front is hand picking every tiny clam she is buying. Some have no washing machines so the cloths are just washed by hand and hug out the window dripping on everyone who walks by, the ones who do have washers are still hanging their cloths out in the sun, no dryers. People working out in their vegetable gardens with huge smiles on their faces, just waiting for the next rain. They don't seem too worried about their crop, just enjoying being outside digging in the earth. We were in a very long line at St. Peter's, had been there for about 30 minutes when a family of 5 just came up and got infront of us. My husband gave me "a look" and I laughed and said, we are not in America, we are in Italy, I dare you to say to them , the back of the line. He just laughed and relaxed, we all got in before mass started so who cares, what difference does it really make. One day my husband and a guide went on a hike and I was just sitting in a park, watching mostly men, enjoy the company of each other, just talking, laughing looking at the sea. I want to go back!!!! I love America, please don't get me wrong, I just wish we could relax more, enjoy the simple pleasures. I really have tried to do that since returning, haven't been too good at it. It is hard to explain, it is a feeling inside of you, just a very peaceful, calm feeling. No rush, no worries.
