Glad to hear that. I have not seen the movie, but the book was delightful!

I thought the movie was amazing. :) I still haven't read the book yet. When I still worked at Borders earlier this year we were constantly selling out.

I haven't read the book yet either. I think I'll wait until I see the movie first.
Last time I read the book "Horse Whisper" and then went to see the movie I wasn't at all happy. It was so different from the book it only left me disappointed.

I have seen the movie and would now like to read the book.
I saw the movie Horse Whisperer first and then read the book.

I have read the book. I enjoy reading books that movies are based on and seeing the movies. I am quirky like that.

My sis-in-law in Dallas sent the book to me after she read it, I sent it to a friend in Cambria and I don't know who has it now (or I would have been happy to share it)...

I saw Marley and Me. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone, so perhaps you should skip this post if you don't know the story.
I lost Kato a few months ago. I had him for half of my life. I don't ever remember crying at a movie theater. This movie was very difficult for me. Kato passed away when his stomach turned a few months ago. This hit way too close to home for me. :(

That breaks my heart for you Sandman ~ ! I'm so sorry it dredged up all that pain from your recent loss and made it like new again :(
I havent seen this movie yet, but just from the impressions I have been given, I know its one I need to watch at home, after it comes out on DVD.

I think it's always best, at least for me to see the movie first then read the book. They never seem to get the movie as good as the book...imho.

I'm with you on that one Only1....from what I've heard from people I'll be waiting for it to come out on DVD so I can bawl my little eyes out in the privacy of my own home. I'm way to much of an animal lover to even THINK I wouldn't bawl when I see it!

We saw the movie and I read the book. Books are always better than the movie because there is so much more information. They left so much out of the movie. I did love the movie...we have a Marley at home only his name is Murphy. I have never had a dog that is as strong willed and hard headed as he is, but we love him very very much. The theater was packed and there wasn't a dry eye in the place. And Sandman, I can relate..we had a half Rott/half Lab that was definitely not a Marley. He was really layed back and really well behaved. We had him for 14 years, lost him in Oct of 2003 and I will never get over it. I've lost other dogs, but he was so special, and the movie brought back alot of those feelings, feelings I don't want to revisit. I was never able to have children and he was my baby boy, all 130 lbs of him. I cry just thinking about it, but I am grateful we had him all the years we did. Murphy is just the opposite, but he is such a caricature you can't help but love him. He is pretty special too, although quite a hand full. I believe that God placed him with us because someone else might not have kept him. I thought it was a very funny movie because we could relate to it so much, but was very sad at the end.

This movie brings back pets we have all had at one time or another I am sure....I had to put my Great Dane down in the 70's, and lost several other long time pets since and prior to that...but it also reminded me of the movie Old Yeller when I was a kid. Needless to say I cried through a great deal of it. But I think it is a movie everyone should see....it was both funny and sad...but also about family.
