Does anyone know anything about it? It's kinda soggy to do off road hiking, and I thought I'd check out the river walk. Where does it start and stop? How long is it and where is the best place to park? Thanks y'all.

I havent walked the whole trail Monkey, but you can start it from behind the library, and there is plenty of parking there too!

You can park at the library and it starts there - toward road 426, cross the road, goes along side the river in front of those small buildings to the path across to below the Sierra Telephone Parkway building, across the bridge to the other side (near the OES school & boys/girls club) along the river by OCI and the preschool, across the bridge again by the historic site, across school road, along school road in front of the special schools (foothill) and through/around Yosemite somewhere, I think it ends about there. At least that is as far as I know it.
Sandy Brinley at Sierra Telephone is a good contact for the River Parkway, she has worked on it for many many years.

Another place to hike...( its not a *real* hiking spot ) but you have so many options with it! Is the Miami Motorcycle trails! If you go far enough back in a couple of miles past the Kamook (?) staging center to the farthest camp ground there is a very nice long wide trail to walk there! The roads arent bad at all...(Not like the Westfall Station road can get).
However, be warned. I have and do run into bears on that trail.....but they always take off in the other direction, just as fast as I do! LOL

Bass Lake from the group camp towards The Forks is a great walk in winter....I would walk with you there sometimes if you like. (and a little note about the river walk...I'd start at Library and go towards high school cause the community park isn't always real safe feeling anymore.)

So I did the walk today. It was very nice and it was nice to see other people using it as well. I parked at the library and took it until the end. I'm guessing it was about a 2 mile, mostly level round trip walk and it took about an hour. I would definately do it again at this time of year when Lewis Creek has snow and other trails are too muddy. It didn't go by the Communtiy park and I would feel safe walking it alone during the day if I don't have a friend to go with or a dog to take.
