Death Valley

Just returned from a trip to Death Valley. Beautiful this time of year, not too hot. We had great weather.

Beautiful! I've been to Death Valley many times and I used to live in the high desert and love the desert. Dont think i'd want to live there again but it surely has a unique beauty all its own. Thanks for sharing.

Those aren't huts, they are the gopher piles in my yard!

Yours too huh? The gopher mounds are HUGE this year! lol Some can even get elevation ratings now!!!

I cant tell if those are huts or maybe a type of communal cooking ovens? No windows, I am kind of suspecting ovens or kilns.... and they are pointed.

They are kilns used to make charcoal from the surrounding pinyon forest and were built in 1876 they do have "windows" at the back. Plus here's a few more pics.
