I got to meet the owners of Mariposa Brewing Company, Those who know me know me know I love Microbrew, I was able to provide some decor for their brewery, and met some really great people, who gave me the tour, and provided me with lots of their merchandise as a favor : ) this is a green facility, they also donate to several charities.

intro:
A small brewery recently opened near the Mariposa Fairgrounds.
Called Mariposa Brewing Co., it features beers with catchy names: Prospectors Pilsner, Mariposa Golden Amber, High Country Hefeweizen and Pick Axe IPA.
The brewery, launched on Christmas Eve, is the brainchild of Steve Lach, a San Luis Obispo entrepreneur who plans to retire in Mariposa. He's an owner of San Luis Custom Windows & Doors.
Lach found several investors and a partner, Lyle Smith.
Mariposa Brewing has a manufacturing base and tasting room. Its owners hope to sell their wares in Fresno-area restaurants.
"Our primary intention is putting it in kegs," Lach says. "We don't want to put it in [standard-size] bottles."
Folks can drink some in the tasting room, or buy growlers, the half-gallon bottles. Lach encourages customers to bring the growlers back for a refill or recycle the bottles.
The brewery also aims to be environmentally conscious in its production methods. It uses local ingredients in its beers, such as wild hops grown in and around the Yosemite area, as well as mountain spring water, Lach says.
"Virtually nothing goes into the landfill from here," Lach says. "What is left in the brewing process goes to pig farmers."
Mariposa Brewing is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Fridays-Saturdays. In April, the brewery will open on Sundays for the summer. Call (209) 966-7044
