I attended a Tesla concert last night at Warnors Theater in Fresno near Fulton Mall last night. What a beautiful venue. The sound was great and security was impressive. Signs indicated that the place is under renovation, but the only signs of that was in the women's restrooms where they had a few curtains instead of doors. The seats aren't that comfortable, but you shouldn't be sitting at a rock concert anyway! We had no problem finding free parking within 2 blocks of the theater and it's so easy to get to. The place holds about 2000 people.
btw- Tesla rocked and so did their opening band, The Leo Project.

I feel the same way about Hanford's Fox Theater. There is not a bad seat in the house, sound is fabulous, seats are much cheaper than the big arenas and for the over 21 crowd there is an upstair balcony seating area with a bar (no alcohol downstairs and folks with regular seating downstairs cannot access the bar) They don't get a lot of big names in and they are mostly country singers when they do, the trip is well worth it.
Merced is in the process of doing the same thing with the old Merced Theater. I can't wait until that one is restored and fully open.

We saw Jonny Lang at the Fox last September and enjoyed that theater as well. I love the audiences and feedback from the performers in a smaller venue. I guess I enjoy feeling like I am an active participant in the show. Maybe it's because I'm getting older.....

I just received a photo from a high school friend captioned,
"This is me with Creighton, the lead guitarist from The Leo Project (a metal/rock band from Kansas) They were the opening group for TESLA at the Warner Theater in Fresno. TESLA and The Leo Project freakin rocked the joint. There was also another group that played before The Leo Project, they are from the L.A. area called Damage and they also rocked the joint. It was a really great concert."
Looks like I missed out!! :D
