I just heard today that Lorraine Mahlle has sold her CPA business to an employee. But get this the employee is not a CPA. I like the young girl enough but I cannot imagine leaving my business there with a girl in her very early 20's that is not qualified to handle my business needs. I understand that this actually happened months ago and they have been trying to keep it quiet (I guess they know the issues as well) Anyway just though it was only fair for all to know. if you know anyone useing waht used to be Lorraine Mahle's CPA business warn them. I gues Lorraine got out while the getting was good. i also heard the name is changing to E Z Pay, sounds like a payday loan place doesn't it.

If this is the case, certainly Lorraine has earned the right to retire, and Michelle is a competent tax preparer. She does not need to be a CPA for the vast majority of their business. So far as I know, E-Z pay is a payroll/book keeping type of business.

I used Michelle earlier this year, after I fired the CPA I had been using. I had to get payroll done while I was looking for a new CPA to take over the books. Michelle was very helpful, fitting me in so that the employees got paid on time. She knew it would be a one time job and was very accommodating, helpful and professional. I highly recommend her.

Thank you for your informative posts, rusrich and monkey. IMO, youth does not imply incompetence...

Whenever a member posts a negative review on a business, I like to see what their past posts were about. I'm usually hoping that the negative will balance out with some positive posts. I did that in this case and only found similar negative posts.

Sadly, this is a perfect example of what happens in my profession all the time, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

All of our clients were sent a letter last year saying Michelle had achieved her "Enrolled Agent" status, another letter was sent to all clients that we were working under our long established other DBA (doing business as) EZ-Pay which I established in 1993.

Michelle and I both took tax appointments this last tax year, I am trying to phase out.

There is nothing secretive here, except the person throwing accusations.

Please come out and meet Michelle and I at our office if you have a problem you need to talk about. I do not understand hurtful people like this. Young people need encouragement, not slander.

Welcome to the Forum, Mahle. Thank you for your post which hopefully will discourage additional negativity and rumor.

I have read the post placed n this forum, and I am deeply saddend by these uninformed accusations. I have worked for Lorraine Mahle for six years, and though I may be young, I am educated, experienced, qualified, and licensed to do everything this office says it can do for our clients. I am an Enrolled Agent, which is the only tax preparer licensed by the IRS to prepare tax returns and represent tax payers in all tax matters before the IRS.(CPA's are licensed by the state.) We have sent multiple letters to our clients over the past year keeping them informed of any changes to this company. We are not being secretive about anything. Lorraine Mahle has not retired yet. When she does, we will inform our clients. If you are a client, I encourage you to meet with myself and Lorraine to discuss any concerns you may have. To place misleading information on a public post to damage my reputation and credibility is irresponsible and unprofessional.

Thank you to everyone who has responded in my defense!

I've been a client there for several years and haven't ever had any problems. Everyone in the office was friendly and professional and very patient about answering questions. I give an A-plus!

I have found there is one very POSITIVE thing about NEGATIVE people. They tend to bring out the positive in others. I applaud the people that took the time to respond to this thread in a positive manner.

My grown children, some of my good friends, and I have used this firm for a number of years for our business needs with nothing but good things to report. We have followed Michelle's advancement to where she is today and have received excellent service and advice from her. GREAT JOB MICHELLE

Since when does youth have a $%%*^& thing to do with ability? Anyone who has a problem with this firm will have problems with most any firm because they are likely the problem.

One last thing, if you wish to inform the masses, in writing, with your vast intellegence, get your old high school English book out and learn to write and spell properly.

The statement about "cannot imagine leaving business needs to such a young and unqualified girl" really hit a nerve. There are kids out there as young or younger than Michelle with equal qualifications in a different field of endeavor that are keeping all of us safe. I would venture to guess their responsibilities far outweigh Mountain's and mine. They are, not only responsible for our safety, but many are responsible for millions of our tax dollars. They operate and manage situations and pieces of equipment we wouldn't have a clue how to deal with.

We have a tendency to pick and choose what young people should be doing. We open our homes and check books to the "Geek Squad", for example, but decide young people should not be doing something else, like accounting. Makes no sense to me. My hat is off to all the hard working young people that are striving to make their lives and ours better.

Good for everyone that chose a positive message. :)

Age, young or old, is no indicator of ability!

Guess I did, never thought one persons opinion would cause so much trouble good luck to all. I will however do what I feel I need to to do to protect my best interest.
