I agree with Dogergirl. The Forks burgers are always great but it takes a month or so for them to fully ripen http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/wink3.gif

Your luncheon is not the only thing that is going on. I have posted my event with the undestanding that it was being placed in a forum that would welcome other events beside the North Fork Luncheon.

I just remembered something very important about the Fork's...it is their policy to not seat you until your entire party has arrived.. We can ask for a table...but it really doesn't make a difference.

It's that time!
The Forks will open on March 21st
8 am - 8 pm
I'm wondering how the remodel went. I've heard a few descriptions of the inside and it sounds like it will be nice. I've also heard there are some yummy additions to the menu. Thinking of breakfast there on the 21st...before I head out... anyone wanna join me?
Pick up a Sierra Star for the 'coupon'... ;)
Sandman
Mar 13, 2008, 05:29 PM
I got the inside scoop directly from several Forks employees...
Onion Rings will be added to the menu, along with a few other additions.
The Kitchen was remodeled. They did this because they noticed an increase in to-go orders. The larger kitchen will help get those orders out fast without slowing down the orders from customers that choose to dine in.
I prefer to wait a week after opening before I get my first Forks Burger. I'll let the crowds die down and let that new grill get broken it a bit before I stop in for a Burger. And of course, I'll make sure Southwood is behind the grill. She makes the best Forks Burgers, IMO.

The annual reopening of The Forks is based on and around where Easter Falls each year Early Easter means Early Forks Yay!!!! I made my own phone calls today to staff to seek out remodel and menu change info. The Caesar Salad is gone (like any of us ever ordered that!!) And it is rumored there is to be a second shake station as well. I hope they also put in a larger fryer---I forgot to ask! : (

I like Miller's because they have WHOLE ROLLS OF PAPER TOWELS for napkins, which I need. :eat:
The Forks has little wimpy napkins that don't nearly do the job. (but they do have better napkins if you ask for them)

I have always been a very loyal Forks customer and plan to be a regular this summer, as well. After all, it's only a few miles from home. In the past few years, I have noticed a change. First, they no longer give chips with every burger. Second, the burgers have changed. Perhaps they have a new supplier. It's still very good, but I feel it is not as good as it used to be.
On the other hand, I have become very fond of Millers in the last few years. I never went there as a kid and never realized what great food they have. There are days when I will actually pick a Millers Burger over a Forks Burger. I know many people that prefer Millers....
...I'm gonna start a poll!

Yeah, but you could live off their egg salad sandwiches...
Sandman

It all depends on who is cooking. Stacey makes the best Forks Burger, IMO. Others have been known to put too much dressing and such. So, if Stacey is on the grill I usually get a burger. However, there are times that I go 2 times in one day and I'll get a burger one time and the egg salad the next time. The Egg Salad makes a good breakfast when boarding the boat and the burger makes a good lunch to help digest the beer.

I have eaten many Forks burgers and many Millers burgers in the last month. I must say, it's hard to pick the better burger. They are both excellent! You gotta try both and let us know what you prefer.
I love the staff at The Forks Resort. They are always so friendly and they always have a smile on their faces. I go to the Forks almost daily and will continue to do so.
