Signal Improvement Project to begin on State Route 41 & 49 starting Monday May 8th.

Cal-Trans announces the start of a pavement excavation at the intersection of State Route 41 & 49. This project will consist of installation of permanent signals, additional turn lanes, crosswalks, highway lighting, shoulder improvements, and rehabilitation of existing pavement.

Monday May 8th through Friday May 12th work will begin at 7 pm to 6 am. On State Route 41, two-way traffic control with flaggers will be utilized. One lane will remain open on State Route 49. The public may expect delays during this time and motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route.

I am thrilled that this is finally going to happen but I find it hilarious that Caltrans suggests we take an alternate route...alternate to what? http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/laugh.gif

I just ordered a FastTrak so now I will be able to fly through the bridge tolls without stopping. That will save about 10 minutes on my drive to the city. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif

When I drove home from SF the other night at 2AM they were doing bridge work... only one lane open. Now that was a bummer. Traffic at 2AM on a week night. You wont see that in Oakhurst.

No kidding, especially if one is going to Raleys or Von's centers. To avoid it if going to Ahwahnee, you can take 620 over.
