When I came through Coarsegold today, I noticed a palmist has opened up for business at the old art gallery on 41 at the north end of Coarsegold. I think the sign also said Tarot cards. I was in India and had my palm read and was told I would be married by my 23rd birthday. The next week I went to Thailand and again had my palm read. I was told by that woman that I would be married by the end of my 22nd year! Boy did that freak me out. They were both wrong, I first got married at the ripe old age of 42! Anyone else had their palms read or Tarot cards done? I think it would be fun to have it done again.

Yep, in Canada I did it once. Not palm but tarot. The guy told me I was pregnant with a girl and that the father had green eyes. I told him he was full of poop. But he was right. I would of been about 2 weeks pregnant and my ex husband has green eyes. He also said some other stuff about my career (I was in the military) and about what I wanted out of life blah blah. I can't remember all of that. Just the pregnant thing.. and some of the other (more personal) things that he said about me and my ex husband that turned out to be true though I thought it was BS then.
Freaky.
Not for me..

Newcomer and I had our palms read about 12 years ago at the Renaissance Faire in Riverside, CA. We walked up and down the row of psychics, palm readers, tarot card readers and back again and then up and down again trying to figure out which one?
We both decided on one, went in and oddly enough found out he lived in our same town over 2 1/2 hours away (Twilight Zone music please.)
He went on to tell us that there would be a serious illness in the family, someone very close, but that everything would be ok. Noone was going to die from it.
We kept thinking, hmmm Newcomer's mom. She was getting older, smoker...
But then, within 1 year, Newcomer started having issues with his legs collapsing on him and the serious illness turned out to be Kennedy's Disease.
We then had our palms read at another Festival thing, and they told us we'd move by water. At the time we had no plans to move anywhere out of our hometown let alone by water. But alas, here we are with 4 lakes within a 10-20 minute drive. I suppose that's by water.

I went to a palm reader once right after I had surgery to remove some fibroid tumors and I asked her if there were any signs of me having any children and at that time she said she saw me having one. I really hope she is wrong because Rod and I are talking about having another baby soon at least one more and I worry that something will go wrong or I may not be able to have another for some reason. Now I wished I had never had that done.

I had mine done in the early 90s. (palm) Everything she said about my past was right on. my relationship with my brother. She said I would have 3 kids and a scary moment with the middle one at the beginning. (turned out to be a heart murmur). She said I would be north & south alot. (wa. state - Cali) I would be married twice, I would be financially stable. She asked if I was bleeding. (wasnt) she told me to be very careful. ( next day car accident)
She also told me after the reading that she was thinking about not reading me because I gave off such bad energy. I was at such a turmoil in my life with no direction at the time. I wasnt even planning on going to see her. Drove passed turned around and went in.

I went to a palm reader here in Vegas.I,m open minded i can take anything. She did the deck of cards on me, and she was right on most of the stuff. Its just the other stuff hasn,t happened yet this year. She told me about my sons surgery.and she told me i would wake up and realise that my boyfriend was not good for me...it took 3 months and all in 1 day ,i drop him like a rock, because i realised he was Not good for me.That was it! http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/annoyed.gif.It shocked me. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/worried.gif she does not see marriage in my future, and she said there would be others, he was not going to be the last boyfriend....and i did meet 2 other men but i,m not interested in them, here in town. SO i need to go back and see her. She costed me $20.00 for 15 minutes, and belive me that was enought time! http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/idea3.gif

I am very curious about all of this. I have always wnted to have my cards read but I am chicken. If something bad is going to happen, I'd rather not know. I would stress about it forever. If something good is going to happen, well, I like good surprises.

Wanted to let those interested in the Palm Reader know that there was a nice little article about her (Sonia?) in the YeLP newspaper...Apparently, she's a 7th generation psychic...she does palm reading, tarot cards and some other type readings. She said she can even give a reading from just looking at a photograph. She can predict a person's future, but it's up to the person to change it. Anyway...if you get the Yelp, look for the article. We've got a couple copies left at our restaurant...but they won't last long.

(no i haven't gone yet, trying to set up an appt. is difficult for me) No one should give readings for personal gain.

However, each person still has to put food on the table, probably her only means of income at this time.

So it's a genetic thing? I'm impressed she knows what her great-great-great-great-grand(mother/father) were doing during their lives. But, then again, of course she would. She's psychic.

You got me thinking...how did this genetic psychic ability just pop up 7 generations ago? What about all her ancestors before that...were they just mere mortals (or mugles)? Does her psychic ability only read so far into the past and so far into the future? Perhaps, even she has her limitations.
Hmmmm.

Ok - we went!
Had separate readings.
I have to just say... the wierdest thing! Fate!
The young lady gave us a reading tonite... and OMG - about 6 years ago in Simi Valley!!! Isn't that the craziest? Same Girl! Newcomer recognized her (and then I did!)
Anyways... she was right on the money for both of us - and we were done separately. I don't want to go into details, but she knew so much right away.
Even Newcomer's medical condition.
It was $85.00 each though for a full-reading. Including palms, psychic, etc. It can take 10 minutes or 3 hours - all depends on what is seen and the questions you ask.
She didn't hold back. Told us things, good and bad. Maybe even things you don't want to hear about yourself and your future.

I don't want to be a spelling Nazi.....but when she gets her sign changed to spell "tarot" correctly, I may take her seriously. In the meantime, I guess I just don't want to know. Denial's my middle name.

Its spelled wrong?! I usually notice things like that!
I guess I just liked her sign overall - thought it was nicely done actually.

Kahlua...
Can't ya tell us more? Anything exciting about your future or anything weird?
What was your overall feeling when you were done?
Some words can be spelled differently...there's often an ancient, rare way and the new/modern way...and sometimes it just has to do with regional dialects and dictions.
How does she spell it? Tarrot? Or Tarot? I've heard it pronounced like tarret and like taro...by different people. Which is right?

Lets see - much of it was very personal... but I can tell you that...
I am to live a very long life (I've been told this multiple times by other palm readers) and will accomplish a lot in my life time.
More on point - she said, I am an extremely busy (yes)and successful person (depends on what you judge success by).
She looked at a photograph of Newcomer and I taken 19 years ago, and she declared immediately that we have no children.
She also said that there was a disruption that changed my outlook on life in my past - and she felt it had to do with my husband, Newcomer.
She kept saying I was blocking her, I was blocked... (that's because I knew Newcomer was going to come in next for his personal reading and I didn't want to give everything away to her - I suppose I was testing her...)
She told me I'll move near water - Hey, I always wanted a place on Bass Lake! http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/wiseguy.gif
Feeling when I left: that she didn't tell me too much of what I didn't already know - but it was very eye opening to hear someone else put it to words and actually see it/know it/express it openly.

We're so bad - about a week or so ago we were driving by the Palm Reader's place going down the 41 and they were "Closed" during a time that we noticed they are usually open...
I jokingly told Newcomer, they must have foreseen they weren't going to have any business that night.
I know - bad!!!

True that. I really don't know, since I live so near the Denial River, and shouldn't have gotten back on my box. BTW, a friend of mine has the yarn business near there...the "Little Bit of Yarn".
