I have gotten tires there many times and was always pleased with the service. I just learned recently that they do more than tires!

I got new tires there a few months ago. Was impressed with the service and I got the tires, good ones, as cheaply as I could have at Costco. Installation, balancing, and all for 4 tires was $283, that was for the deluxe package for radial tires. The deluxe package includes flat repairs (if I get a flat for the life of the tire) and rotations when needed. Then last month I got my oil changed there. The oil change was $29 something, same price as the Eagle Lube according to my dad, and the job was done right. Both times they were done in a reasonable amount of time, very friendly, and kept me updated on how long it would be. Yep, they do lots more there than just tires, and I am happy to have a place to take my car for maintenance that won't rip me off.

The New owner have Cleaned up the Poor Rep from the old owner. They will alway try to fix a problem if something happens. One thing People dont Ask for is when you get an Oil Change ask for tire Rotation. Normaly they will not charge you extra.
However I always buy all my tires From OAKHURST TIRE.(Next to HnL Lumber) for all five Vehicles I run. They have been a family owned Tire shop in Oakhurst for 30+ years. Tires, Wheeles, ATV Assorories. Muffler service. They do the PG&E, Caltrans, Sierra Phone Co, tires.
Any time you can Buy Local it will save you money even if the bottom line price is a few dollors more. Who want to drive to the Valley if there is a problem.

On Tuesday, we called in and asked if they could get the tire we needed. We told him 3X to make sure that they were the correct tire rating. He said they would be there on Thursday.
I dropped the car off on Thursday at lunch and they want to charge me $30 more than what was on the ticket they printed out. I told them no thank you and I would go somewhere else. They then say that they will stand by the price they quoted over the phone and printed on my ticket so I drop it off at lunch to pick it up at 5 that day.
I go in after work and alas... the wrong &*#!ing tires are on the car (it is a good thing that I checked because that can be seriously dangerour). They tell me they will get the correct ones tomorrow. Tomorrow comes (today) and now they tell me they will get them tomorrow.
I'm a little frusterated with Big O Tires.
They seem like alright guys if they could get the tires we asked for and made sure they triple checked that they were getting the right one.
As for the price... Costco and Sears are much cheaper for the same tires and service. What cost me $301 at Costco or Sears, costs $360 at Big O. They also do not have a price match.
I wish I would have taken a trip down to Fresno and got them done there... I feel we should support our local businesses but this has really been a hassle.

Try Yosemite Alignment on Hwy 41 just north of Foster Freeze. They are not cheap but they do good work.

We were in there the other day & waited almost a half hour to get an estimate!
This after a call the previous day to request what we needed.
(My husband used to work there, so he even had contacts)
We ended up at Coarsegold Car Care, they had the job done quickly & cheaper.
To be fair, when my daughter ran her car off the road last winter, Big O took really good care of her, (but recently wouldn't help her with her warranty on her tires).

If you had a problem with BIG O and the Owners can not or will not help you (but Im sure they will) go to http://www.bigotires.com/index.asp?PG=1&Sub=10&StoreID=000000
$50 to me is worth not driving to fresno at a cost of $10 in gas and $600 for a Bullit proof vest.

Yeah, Diane is usually great, but it was weird the other day, we just stood there for the longest time...

It's not about $50... it's about not having a car for two days, working in Coarsegold and living in Oakhurst.
I am just hoping they ordered the correct tires and the correct ones come in today since they are closed Sun and probably Mon.
If they come in and all is well, I will give them another chance... mistakes happen.
If not, I will never go to Big O again.

The tires came in and they corrected everything... mistakes happen.
They admited the error and took proper steps to correct it. I will continue to go to Big O.

We needed to replace all four tires the other day. First we went to Oakhurst Tires, but the young man there was copping one HUGE attitude with my husband, snapping at him and throwing his arms up in the air, just really being a jerk about the whole thing. Assuming he didnt want our business we changed our minds and went to Big O instead. They were awesome. We were in and out of there in no time, got a great deal on our tires, and everyone was so friendly! Just wanted to share that.

Big O has always treated me fairly. I managed to crack a rim on my older Chevy truck a few years back. So, we drag out the book to order me another....obsolete Inky and this truck has a very old/odd sized lug-nut set-up 5 on 5" not 5 on 5 1/2" I was looking at a very expensive replacement...all 4 rims to the tune of $600 for something even close to similar and it would have been even more costly if i wanted something better than "sort of close". Needless to say, I was bummed. Bummed and then salesman remembers a guy that had dropped off some business cards a week or so prior for a new shop in Fresno that specialized in fixing cracked rims.
Big O took care of everything. Sent the rim down to Fresno; had it sent back up; showed me the wonderful workmanship before putting the tire back on. They even went so far as to guarantee the other shops work. Big O had said it would most likely be a week or more before I was up and rolling again. I had my truck back in 3 days and the final cost? $65 !! The rim is still intact and in great condition.
The other thing I like about Big O is that no matter how you got your vehicle even if you bought it used; if there are Big O tires on the vehicle, they still honor the free flat repairs etc. Many companies will only do that for the original purchaser of the tires.

I have had problems with Big O tire but they have always taken care of it. They gave me a free oil change for making me wait too long.

Yes, yes, I had that problem too! I went with my three children to Oakhurst Tire to get a tire patched (I ran over two nails someplace). I had put the spare on (it is regular size) and put the flat back where the spare goes. The baby was crying, I was wearing a white shirt, I asked the guy to bring the spare down (it is under the back of my truck) and he totally stomped over muttering to himself. Flipping out really. I was all embarrassed and felt stupid because I really could of done it myself if I had known it would of been such a big deal.
A couple hours later I went back to get the tire and get it put where it belongs in the back passenger side of my truck. He totally had a **** fit when I told him I wanted the spare back where the spare goes. The tread and wear is completely different, but he insisted that it was fine to leave it on. I told him I would just change it myself if it was that big of a deal.. so he muttered and swore and begrudingly changed the tire. He rolled the spare to the back of the truck and told me it would be ten dollars for the patches. I gave him the flat ten, no tip, and screwed the spare on myself.
Jerk!
Next time I will go to Big O. I thought that Oakhurst tire was the little guy and could use the business, I was wrong.

Big O has been great to me. Have no complaints whatsoever.

Some of my lug nuts were loose after they installed the tires on my truck. Others were too tight.
I always loosen them all and re-torque them properly after I get home. It has happened to me from so many different tire shops, I'm not surprised anymore.
