Best service??
what the heck to they do other than take your money?

It is not like the old days at Chevron they gave you full service at the self service pump.

Kind of miss livin in Oregon where YOU CANT pump your own gas. Its the law.
the Pump jockes filled you up and you did not even have to get out of the car.

Hey now! Don't bag on Velero for not pumping your gas... Who does pump your gas up here??? I have never had someone offer to pump my gas for me in this town! Well, maybe at Chevron when John worked there....

They always pump my gas at Chevron. And offer me free carwashes all the time. If ya know me you already know I don't take them up on the car washes very often. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/laugh.gif

Hell, we barely have enough manpower hours to cover the register shifts at Valero. The reality of the situation is that the store has seen a 10-15% increase of customer count (not just sales) each year since I have been there, but the corporation annually cuts out schedual hours. There used to be 2 employees on almost all the time, plus a manager. Now its rare to have an hour of overlap on shifts.

But I go to Valero because the guys are cuter. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/wink3.gif

I think I have to go here now. Do you see any "service stations" anymore? Or do you see convenience stores with gas pumps? We are employees for a convenience store. Convenience store employees work in the store. Doing store stuff. The corporations have made sure there isn't enough time to get the work done inside, much less attending to the people at a selfserve gas pump.

What the heck does anyone in anystore do besides take your money? Except for baggers at the grocery stores.

It's been a long time since I've seen "Full Serve" at a gas station...and when I did they charged something like 25 cents more per gallon. You'd have to pay for someone to pump your gas, check your oil, and clean your windows. I'd much prefer to serve myself. Forget all that service...takes time from traveling and if I really need to have the extras done, I can do it myself.

I think full-serve is only appealing to an elderly person (like my mother who never ever gassed up her own car even when she was younger...so ignorance by choice) or a disabled person. I'm sure these people could get help if they needed it, right? If not an available employee...maybe another customer with good samaritan qualities.

We live in a self-serve world.

By state law if there is available personel, and a disabled person asks we have to provide service. Reality is that the short staffing makes this difficult. Very few disabled people ask for help. It might take us a few minutes to get there, and if there is only one person on its really hard to do. I try. Even if it means ingoring other customers. Thats against company policy. And yes, people complain. Can you believe that? They complain if the attendant is helping a disabled person, because they were so inconvenienced by a couple of minutes wait. The nerve of a disabled person interrupting thier speedy day.

I was not Bagging on you about service.
I just found it funny for I get JUST GAS most of the time and pay at the pump.
I dont buy sodas or junk food. and I never buy beer.
I have Texaco/shell and Chevron cards so that is where we go most for the work trucks for book keeping.
Ann goes to the Vons for her car and been getting -6 cents every time she filles up.

The only time I do get stuff at a Gas station is in Ahwahnee for my $1.00 20 Oz coffee on the way to work. Nora is so sweet.

I havent been to that gas station yet. If I can I get my gas in fresno, lots cheaper.

Now in Oregon if your paying with a card you have to get out and pay inside. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/confused.gif

We go to the Valero gas station and Von's when we get the six cent discount. The girls inside at Valero I know and are really nice. And of course I have to go to Valero and get my lotto tickets and say hello.

And TOT, nope, we will only take checks written on business accounts. No personal checks anymore.
