I know, I know, this is just a "mindless" game show with 26 scantily clad women opening boxes and is stupid as all get out - but......I LOVE this show and never miss it. Well, I think Howie Mandell is cute, too! Am I alone on liking this show?

No way, we are totally addicted!!! My best buddy came up here and stayed for a few days and introduced us to it. We have watched it ever since! Too funny that Regis was on it last night!

I have never even heard of that show...but I only have cable ...is it on satellite or something? Or have I just managed to entirely miss even a commercial for it?

It is on regular TV/Cable. Though I haver yet to watch more than 5 minutes or so...it just doesn't do it for me. Howie Mandel is a better comic than game show host.

You may already know this but Howie Mandell will not shake hands or let people touch is hands. He has OCD and is a Germaphobe. He will although hit nuckles with people as a greeting. He wears gloves when opening doors & such in public places. I watch the show and like it but I notice that after someone slaps the platic cover down over the button and says NO DEAL they then break for commercial, Someone most likely has to come out and clean off the plexiglass box before he touches it again.

Fans of the TV show Deal or No Deal will be used to seeing host Howie Mandell doing the ‘knuckle knock’ with contestants. That’s because he’s terrified of germs, a common characteristic of OCD.

In an interview on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Mr. Mandel said when he goes into a hotel room he orders 26 towels and lays a path on the carpet of his room so he won’t have to step on it.

He also told NBC his clean-shaven head is linked to his condition. “For my germ phobia, it kind of helps me. It’s cleaner and its low maintenance,â€� he said.

I think Deal or No Deal should be made into a drinking game. Post here what the rules would be _________________________?

I was just telling my husband about Howie and his problem with germs... He said in a TV interview that he was on a plane and had his plane changed because there were so many people coughing and sneezing....

he said the older he gets the worse it is...

I totally love the show.. my entire family is hooked... in fact the kids get to stay up later then normal on school nites to watch it.....


but you should see me if i have to go to the ER... i freak out over the people in there that are sick and coughing and all that... if my husband is with me i will walk outside alot.. and then come home and take a shower.... I am a little more alert about the germs due to getting sick and all that.........my kids noticed I am getting worse as i get older....
but here is a thought.. do you ever think about how many people touch a shopping cart... OMG..... I could loose my mind over that.....ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

The checkstands now have anti bacterial stuff that you can use when you go to check out. I've used it a couple of times when my hands feel sticky when at the store.
Also, when I'm at the gym, the last thing I do before I walk out the door is go wash my hands. All those sweaty people touching everything. ewwwwwwwww too
When I use the bathroom and wash my hands, I will usually keep the hand towel and use it to open the bathroom door and then throw it away.
Or at the casino, when I'm playing cards and think of all the others that have been touching the chips, etc., that kinda gets me. There are germs everywhere, and while I don't really freak out over it, I probably do wash my hands more than others, just so I don't get sick, or spread something on to others.

Monkey, I agree with you and Michelle about the casino and markets. There are soooo many germs in those places. Whenever I get home from anywhere - even work - I wash my hands. Hate crowds - but not only for the germs, I'm also claustophobic in large groups. Heck, sounds like a lot of people have something in common with Howie! Well, gotta go - the show just started!

OK, I'm back. Tonight's show was so frustrating. That last gal ended up with $50! Whenever you're offered thousands of dollars and you only have one big number left I can't believe why people push their luck. Well, I guess its like a gambling thing. You always think you're going to do better but end up with the luck eating up all your money. I guess it can become a real addiction - thats why they have gamblers anonymous. But I still like the show - its interesting to see how people handle money risk. I'm afraid I would be pretty boring - when offered whatever sum from the banker I would probably take the money and run!

Everyone keeps mentioning how many people have touched the shopping carts. Touch away!! it grosses me out more to think about how many soggy and oozing diapers have sat in the 'kid seat' and how many babies mouths have chewed on the push bars!
