I was just wanting to drop a line about a new topic that has been on my mind for awhile. I am happy to say that if anyone has a prayer need of any sort please explain your prayer need and I , and hopefully others, will pray for you and/or your need. I hope I can be of help.

May God Bless you.

I have a prayer that i read every morning
i would like to share it with you.

PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO RELAX YOUR MIND AND HUMBLE YOUR HEART TO FOCUS ON CHRIST. ALLOW GOD, TO BE THE ONLY PERSON ON YOUR MIND WHILE YOU READ THIS PRAYER.

DEAR LORD, I THANK YOU FOR THIS DAY. I THANK YOUR FOR MY BEING ABLE TO SEE AND TO HEAR THIS MORNING. I'M BLESSED BECAUSE YOU ARE A FORGIVING GOD AND AN UNDERSTANDING GOD. YOU HAVE DONE SO MUCH FOR ME AND YOU KEEP ON BLESSING ME. FORGIVE ME THIS DAY FOR EVERYTHING I HAVE DONE, SAID OR THOUGHT THAT WAS NOT PLEASING TO YOU. I ASK NOW FOR YOUR FORGIVENESS.

PLEASE KEEP ME SAFE FROM ALL DANGER AND HARM. HELP ME TO START THIS DAY WITH A NEW ATTITUDE AND PLENTY OF GRATITUDE. LET ME MAKE THE BEST OF EACH AND EVERY DAY TO CLEAR MY MIND SO THAT I CAN HEAR FROM YOU.

PLEASE BROADEN MY MIND THAT I CAN ACCEPT ALL THINGS.

LET ME NOT WHINE AND WHIMPER OVER THINGS I HAVE NO CONTROL OVER. LET ME CONTINUE TO SEE SIN THROUGH GOD'S EYES AND ACKNOWLEDGE IT AS EVIL. AND WHEN I SIN, LET ME REPENT, AND CONFESS WITH MY MOUTH MY WRONGDOING, AND RECEIVE THE FORGIVENESS OF GOD.

AND WHEN THIS WORLD CLOSES IN ON ME, LET ME REMEBER JESUS' EXAMPLE TO SLIP AWAY AND FIND A QUIET PLACE TO PRAY. IT'S THE BEST RESPONSE WHEN I'M PUSHED BEYOND MY LIMITS. I KNOW THAT WHEN I CAN'T PRAY, YOU LISTEN TO MY HEART. CONTINUE TO USE ME TO DO YOUR WILL.

CONTINUE TO BLESS ME THAT I MAY BE A BLESSING TO OTHERS. KEEP ME STRONG THAT I MAY HELP THE WEAK. KEEP ME UPLIFTED THAT I MAY HAVE WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT FOR OTHERS. I PRAY FOR THOSE THAT ARE LOST AND CAN'T FIND THEIR WAY. I PRAY FOR THOSE THAT ARE MISJUDGED AND MISUNDERSTOOD. I PRAY FOR THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW YOU INTIMATELY. I PRAY FOR THOSE THAT DON'T BELIEVE. BUT I THANK YOU THAT I BELIEVE.

I BELIEVE THAT GOD CHANGES PEOPLE AND GOD CHANGES THINGS. I PRAY FOR ALL MY SISTERS AND BROTHERS. FOR EACH AND EVERY FAMILY MEMEBER IN THIER HOUSEHOLDS. I PRAY FOR PEACE, LOVE AND JOY IN THIER HOMES THAT THEY ARE OUT OF DEBT AND ALL THIER NEEDS ARE MET.

I PRAY THAT EVERY EYE THAT READS THIS KNOWS THERE IS KNOW CIRCUMSTANCE, OR SITUATION GREATER THAN GOD. EVERY BATTLE IS IN YOUR HANDS FOR YOU TO FIGHT. I PRAY THAT THESE WORDS BE REVEIVED INTO THE HEARTS OF EVERY EYE THAT SEES THEM AND EVERY MOUTH THAT CONFESSES THEM WILLINGLY.

THIS IS MY PRAYER.
IN JESUS' NAME AMEN

They found several small cysts in the back of her brain.It is too soon to tell what that will mean for her future.The cysts could go away on their own, they could get bigger, they could get smaller, or they may have to give her medicine to make them go away, if it will work on her.They can't take them out at this point.They may in the future, it will depend on what the ultrasound results are.when they do the ultrasounds every week.

P.S There is a little boy next to my sis who has been there for 9 m please put him on your list also.his name is Christopher. When Christopher was born, he had a hole in his heart. his church prayed over him and without surgery, the hole disappeared.They HOPE that he will get to come home when he is 12 months old.

My step=daughter who will be 49 later this next month was born born with a whole in her heart. She has lived with me as my daughter since she was 19. She has what is called Willians syndome. She suffers from mild mental deficiency but is able to most things for herself. She is very popular with people of all ages and is very outgoing. She has friends who pick her up and take her to events and spend time with her. There could be worse things that might have happened.

Newcomer's mother was told 2 days ago she has an 80% blockage in her carotid artery and needs surgery... Please pray all goes well.

Thank you very much.

It is getting close to time for my Grandmother to pass. She has been battling emphysema for many years. For the last few months, they have had hospice in the home and family members take turns being with her. She told us that she doesn't want to die alone. I just got off the phone with my Grandfather and he told me that she is not doing well at all. She is hallucinating 90% of the time that she is awake since she has a lack of oxygen to her brain. She forgets names and says things that make no sense at all. Hospice told us that she would sleep a lot, then she would not be able to talk at all. Hearing is the last to go. They also told us that towards the end (new beginning) often times people see dead people. My Grandmother is showing these signs. She looks in the corner of the room and talks to someone that isn't there. I think her Mother and other relatives are helping her to the other side. I am sad most right now because she is in pain, but will feel relief when she doesn't have to feel the pain anymore. Hospice thinks she will stick around for another few weeks. This is very hard to deal with.

Thanks TOt - she doesn't have surgery scheduled yet - they are doing an MRI on the 17th... boy, nothing like taking your time to find out how serious this is! But that's health care in America now I think - just too many of us needing services.

We'll let you know.

We are praying for all requests here on the board.

We hope for peace and comfort for everyone.

Hi all,
Caroline had a minor setback today, she has a little bit of an infection so they are giving her antibiotics and will watch her close. She is still looking good though. When they get rid of the infection they will see again about starting to feed her. All we can do is wiat and watch and pray.

" I have a very close friend who has Burkitts
Lymphoma she does not have much time left. Her son will turn 7 next week. There is nothing left that can be done. The time has run out
for a stem cell donor. Can you please send your prayers or positive energy or whatever your personal faith is to Claire. I would appreciate it. Right now we are hoping that she can make it through one more birthday with Michael. I really appreciate it."

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. My Grandmother is expected to pass within the next few days. My father reminded me of JOHN 3:16

<FONT SIZE=-2>16</FONT> For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. <FONT SIZE=-2>17</FONT> For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. <FONT SIZE=-2>18</FONT> He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. <FONT SIZE=-2>19</FONT> And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. <FONT SIZE=-2>20</FONT> For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. <FONT SIZE=-2>21</FONT> But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Couln't help but be drawn to this topic. I would love to see the Prayer List be a "forum" of it's own. While we may "Debate religion, church & spirituality with other members of our community" in the "spirituality forum"
somhow when it comes down to to the nitty -gritty of asking for others to please direct their prayers to your concern. Their religion/faith/spiritual path doesn't matter in the least. What matters is the power to heal and console that derives from sincere prayer. In this we are all one.

your right pp - i do beleave in the power of prayer. it worked for me last week. the ex and i were in a huge custody battle. i prayed the prayer i posted on this forum everyday. i asked the lord for a sign if he heard my prayer. (when i was a kid i went to st. peter and paul catholic school in wilmington calif) later i turned on the news and the segment was on the power of prayer. they were broadcasting from st. peter and paul church in wilmington. i knew that was my sign. the day before court i found out that the ex was on the most wanted list for arson in his county and had a warrent for his 3rd dui and was in contempt for non payment of child support. my kids are home with me. where they belong. prayer does work. it doesnt matter what religion you are or where you worship or even if you go to church.

My Grandmother passed early this morning. She leaves behind 7 children, 15 Grandchildren and a very devoted husband. I am going to Utah next week for the services. Afterwards, we will celebrate her life at her home. My cousin Wendy passed before I was born, so I share our Grandmother with her now.

Yesterday was very hard for me since I knew the time was near. Today I must say that I feel relief... .relief that she is no longer in pain. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

Best wishes for the others that need our prayers now.

My prayers for you and your family. It's really hard for most people to understand your reasoning. It's very mature thinking and most younger people (yes, Mat, you're a 'younger person') are too selfish to understand. We want the person with us, no matter what. Go spend some quality time with your Grandpa, and enjoy the time you have with him. Have a safe trip & let me know if you need anything (pets fed, plants watered http://oakhurstforums.com/icon/wink2.gif, etc.) (and give your mother a few extra hugs, we mothers always need those) http://oakhurstforums.com/icon/yes.gif

I appreciate your offer Dodgergirl. Brad will be around to take care of the house and pets while I'm gone.

My Grnadfather is a lot younger than my Grandmother (20 yrs?). I'm sure I'll have many more years left with him. He needs to quit smoking though. If one lesson is to be learned here it is how terrible and painful it is to die from lung problems.

This is actualy my step-Grandfather, but he has been married to my Grnadmother since before I was born, so I forget about the 'step' part. He is my Grandfather, as far as I'm concerned.

My Mom's birth father was not around much when she was a kid... and not around when I was a kid. He is around now... so, I have a few Grandpas http://oakhurstforums.com/icon/wink2.gif

An update on my previous post...

"Thank you all for your positive energy and your prayers. I have always been a firm believer that enough positive poured into the
world can change anything. No matter how you worship or believ, I believe that it is all positive and that it will help.

Unfortunately, this time we did not cull enough energy to bring Claire through to next week. She is in a better place, and she is through suffering and that is comforting.

I cannot thank you enough for your efforts.

Who knows how many hours our energy lifted her and allowed her to be here and be comforted in her physical body. Thank you for that.

Wendy"

I'm back from Utah. My Grandmother's memorial was both very sad and very fun. It was sad to say goodbye to someone we all loved so much. It was fun to spend time with the family she created. The entire family was there... I was introduced to people that I have never met... "This is your aunts second cousin" and stuff like that. How would I be related to my aunts second cousin anyway? http://oakhurstforums.com/icon/grin2.gif

Well, as requested by my Grandmother, we did not wear black and we had a huge pool party at her house. If she only was able to have that party while she was alive... she would have loved it!

It was the saddest funeral I had been to. It was also the most fun. Memorial services help when you lose someone. I wasn't sure that it would help, but it did.

See Matt ..... funerals should be a little sad... but they should be fun too ....I am sorry you had this pain in your life.... now honor your grandma ... and have all the fun she would have wanted for you ....

When I die .... I do not want a funeral ...

I want a party were everyone must tell a bad joke I once told them ... and dancing ....

Last but not least... I want my ashes on a table .... and as everyone goes by .... I want them to kiss my ash .....

and as I sad.... grieve for her loss... and celebrate her living .....

i don't know if all of you read my post (oo bbq) about why i didn't make it to the bbq. my dad got bit by a spider last wednesday. him and my grandma came up friday for my sons birthday. when he got here he was limping and looked very bad. i lifted up his pant leg and took his sock off. scary site..the leg was swollen red yellow blue and you can see where the spider bit him. it was also oozing. i took him to umc because they have the trauma center and the chamber for gangreene. the toxin from the bite entered the blood stream and caused the flesh eating bacteria to manifest its self. it shut down his kidneys also. he had surgery on sunday to remove the infected parts of his leg and to remove the dead skin. he was put on a respirator to help him breath, blood pressure meds, meds to make him urinate ect. last night they took him off the bp meds and the urinating med. he's is urinating on his own now but the count is still 8.0. they thinkm it has reached its plateau and will start coming down if not friday they will give him dialysis. tomorrow they are also going to ween him off of the respirator. he was more responsive today. he would turn his head when you talked put his harm up to hold your hand and he reaaly tried to keep his eyes open but for him its more of a blink. but now when he hears are vouces he wakes up without us waking him. he still drifts in and out of sleep alot. he will be in icu for awhile. i go down there after i drop the kids off at school be back by noon and back again when the bigman gets home. i'm very thankful to jimi and his wife for watching my to little ones so i can stay longer at the hospital. everyones prayers have been working he is stable and showing improvement instead of failing. it was very scary there for awhile because he had 30% chance of dying. my dad is very tough and stubborn. i have never heard the man say ouch. but this is a big owie. my son had me buy shrek bandaids for popo's leg. i do have a long road to hoe with my dads recovery but i would much rather take care of him then bury him. thanks for you prayers.

update on my dad. they did another sugery on his leg yesterday and took out more infected flesh. they finally took the respirator out which made him very happy. today he will be taken out of icu and put into a room. he had dinner last night of mashed potatoes and pudding. which gave him the runs all night and this morning. (hospital food?) his kidneys are 75% functioning on thier own. the speech and throat specialist was in this morning to see if his airway is funtioning properly being he was on the respirator for 2 weeks. she wasn't happy with the way he coughs, so she will be with him every morning until she's happy with everything. when all of the teams, surgeons, kidneys, medicine, speech and throat and therapist are satisfied they he will be able to come home. (my house) then i will take him to his outpatient treatments. i don't see him getting back to work until the new year. he really still doesnt understand how close to death he was. he has not seen his leg yet either. he will probably be in the hospital for another 2 weeks depending on his leg and the surgeons is my guess. with the power of prayer he pulled thru and he wants to come home.

I will pray for your friend and her son...daily..
We serve a healing God... Bless you to ask for prayer...God knows your faith!..thats awesome!...what a good friend you are..

James 5:13-16
13Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. 14Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. 16Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

Prayers for you Pop's and Surfus. When I was at the shop the other day Surfus hinted of something when I asked how your last appt. went but I did not want to pry. We are praying that everything is ok.

Tot, Prayers for you and your family also to get through this tough time.

Time passes so fast and in our day to day lives sometimes we don't think about how precious life really is. I Just watched the movie World Trade Center and that along with the news from Iraq and the father that tried to hike out to save his family and the others on Mt. Hood it really makes you stop and smell the roses.

The World trade center movie also reminded me of how our country came together after the attack. Flags on every house and car, Everybody being nice to each other and helping each other out (OO Memebers still do). No road rage, People slowing down and letting you into their lane. I could list many more. I have never seen such a mass change in people until after 911. I pray that our men and women will come home OK from the war and that we all take a moment and remember.

Well waiting on results trying not to stress. The Doctor did mention this time when he looked at the ultrasound they did at Valley Childrens this time just before the AMNIOCENTESIS that they did not see a Choroid Plexus Cyst that AMI said they saw on the last ultrasound. I am hoping that maybe it went away or it was really to small to report and it is the large ones they are concerned on not the small ones. They also said that the legs and feet look normal it just lookes like they may be pointing outward instead of being straight. The Brain and heart look fine and all the other parts look normal too. So I guess i just have to wait it out for the results. Wish us luck. Thanks for all the prayers. We love you guys.

I got my results back and they said the Amniocentesis came back normal and they could not see the Choroid Plexus Cyst in this ultrasound. they said his legs look normal and fppt looks normal but his right foot turned to the right not straight like it should be and the left foot they could not tell. They were concerned that this ultrasound should them a due date of May 4 and it has been in the other ultrasounds were April 23 so it means he is 12 days behind which is not too bad as long as the next ultrasound that we do the end of January does not result in him getting further from the Original due date. So we will see Kirsten was a small baby and she is ok so I not going to worry just yet.

My OBGYN specalist told me it is really hard to say on ultrasounds you just dont know it could be that the foot is position in a wierd spot and it might just come out straight because the foot itself looks normal. The size of him too maybe nothing ether because Surfus, Kirsten and myself were very small babies I was 4 pounds Surf was 6 pounds and Kirsten was 6 pounds. So I not going to try to worry to much yet.

Here is an update on my friends friend .....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here is an udate about Mike! I spoke with Danny last night and he is so thankfull for all your prayers.
This is a miracle!!
Thank you all!!
Cheryl
Date: Jan 26, 2007 12:15 AM
Subject What a Miracle - Mike is on the road to recovery
Body: It's with a warm heart and giddy excitement that I am writing you.
Mike woke late this evening and came to a bit sluggishly, but he spoke and said "S#$%".
Then when I said, OK mike, he repeated "Ok, ok, ok, ok, aw F$%#!" Then he groaned and pulled his restraints on his arms and legs (he had been kicking and fighting earlier when he was heavily sedated) he said "d#@$&T!"
Over the next while he started to groan and when I asked him what he wanted he said "Let me go, let me go, let me go.... over and over. The I said we can't right now, but you have to go to sleep. Try to get some rest, he said Please, please, please,.... I told him it was late and he needed to sleep. We have a big day tomorrow. He asked "what time is it?" I told him it was after 10:00 and he needed to go to sleep.
Later he was saying "I am Mike, I am Mike, Mikey, Mike, ....
Then later he was calling "Danny, Danny, Danny, ... and when I said "I'm here Mike, I am right here" he said "help me, help me, Danny help me..."
I calmed him down and tried to get him to go to sleep.
He opened his eyes and looked right at me. I saw that he was completely there, and was looking at me and smiled (or tried to in his little crooked way since only his left side of his mouth is working right now, and he closed his eyes. I told him that "see, I am right here with you, and you can go to sleep now." Mikey Hill, my friend was with me and he witnessed the whole thing. I told Mike "look who else is here" and Mike opened his eyes again. Then when he saw us both he relaxed and went to his sleepy state. He was acting restless and moving his legs and rocking his feet, trying to relax. When I left, I tried to go when he had a quiet moment, or I would have stayed there all night. My clothes stink, and I need a change and a shower. So I will get some rest now, and get back to him 1st thing in the morning.
I finally had to leave because I had to get some sleep. Tomorrow is going to be a big day.
He will be spending time with the Occupational Therapist and the Physical Therapist.
They will want to reduce the sedation and let him come out more, and we can expect that it will be a full day, and a tiring one for him.
I am sure his visits will still be limited, but I've got to go to bed and get some sleep, so I can get up and see him early in the morning.
Thank you for your prayers and positive energy, it is working. Keep it up, we are not out of the woods yet. But today was a Miracle, proof that through God all things are possible. All the prayers have been working, and God has responded with this amazing blessing.
Much love,
Dan O
He is a great kid and he is starting off on a new path. Also, please send up some prayers for my son who is now pain free, and in the hands of our loving Lord. Thanks so much. Summer
She went in for knee surgery and when they did a m.r.i, they found that she has 2 cracked vertabraes that have become infected. She is extremely overweight so I'm sure that contributed to her problems.but, now the infection has spread to her legs and she has no feeling in elither leg....please pray for her....Thank you, I'll keep you updated..
Oh sweetie, you have it so very wrong. There were many who prayed for you & your family. I talked with your daughter a couple days after they cancelled your husbands first surgery. I personally know of three people who prayed for your husbands recovery and your strength to get thru one of the most stressful times in your life.
Not everyone who prays posts that they do... remember that verse in the bible about not showing your works before man? Many of us hold to that...
I can understand you hurting right now, and although I can't understand what you are feeling, please understand that we do care.
It saddens me to think, that you are under the impression that none of us on this forum had you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.
You and your daughter's family are still in our thoughts, and those of us who pray are still praying for you all.
While it's fine to ask for prayers on the forum, I wouldn't expect to see a post saying that it had been done. For myself, prayers are private. I have never posted that I had prayed, when asked to do so.
YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ARE IN OUT THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS.
I find myself always coming to this post to read and see that someone is in need of prayer.
I also have found that the people from this forum is always looking out for others in many ways. It just isn't posted all the time. I find myself praying in different times of the day and I always send prayer to anyone who needs it even if I don't know they need it or know there name and am thankful for people like who are part of this board for the help they have given me.
There are times I ask myself does prayer even work. and as always it shows me YES IT DOES. my husband lost his job a few months ago and I am worried about how I am going to get school back packs and supplies for all my kids. I pray for that everyday. something will work.
I am sorry for your loss and I do pray for you and your family. I am sorry it felt like nobody cared. but I can assure you we all do!
I have to get that book that is for sure. If anyone has one and wouldn't mind lending it to me to read I would be thankful.
Hi everyone,
Please pray for my mom. She is in ICU for a head injury that happened on Sunday night. The doctor only gave her a 10% chance of survival after brain surgery on Sunday, but she is making some very exciting progress. She still has a long way to go and I have faith that God will guide her through this. But the more prayers the better. She is in stable condition now, but they don't how bad the brain trauma is yet. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank You
Thank you for the prayers. I saw her twice today and she is making more progress everyday. She is alert and talking today. She keeps saying that she wants to go home which is a good thing... She is still a little out of it as she still has some swelling in the brain. But she has definatly made it past the critical part. I saw the surgen today who operated on her the night of the accident and had prepared us that she may die or be a veg. But today he was very happy to see me and very excited about her progress. He said it was amazing how well she is doing with the type of injury she has. I said it was a miracle!
She still has a long road ahead of her. He said that she might not come back to 100% of what she was before but I know my mom is a trooper and she will get through this no matter how hard it is. She injured the part of her brain that controls her mouth movements so she is slurring her words and swallowing is a bit of a challenge for her. But we saw lots of good signs today. She knows who we are, she asked me about a recent job change I had and how work is going. She even told me that I should still go to Jamaica which is planned for next week. She said I should really go and that she would be fine. All of this and she wasn't even really concious two days ago.
I am very thankful to God for his what he is working with her. I do ask for your continued prayers as she goes through this tough journey ahead.
the only thing he has now is the box of water colors he has done. I wish I could show them and sell prints he is awesome...
Thanks DG, Michelle, Monkey, Alpha, and also those of you who joined in prayer without commenting. How awesome is it to have people - most of whom you've never met - praying for you?
<i>"And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken."</i>
Ecclesiastes 4:12
There is strength in prayer. Still, think of one prayer as a string reaching to heaven. You can break one string with some effort. But take that same string and make it into a rope by braiding it with two others and its much more than three times as strong.
I am so sorry that this is happening; my heart was in my throat and tears in my eyes when I read your last post. All of my prayers and good wishes are with you and your family today. God Bless.
Yeah, we're having a hard time, but my son in law is incredible and we have some really supportive friends and family who have stepped up to help out. Having a 2 year old and a 13 day old at home without mommy is hard, but it's gonna be OK. The hard part for me is having my little girl so sick... I talked to her a while ago, she sounded tired but was feeling better. Thats a really good sign.
